There's NO Place Like Home!
The Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph County
and the City of South Bend today threw a party at the College Football Hall of
Fame, to announce South Bend City Celebration 2007. The year-long festival of
events and programs will be held on the 29th of every month (with the exception of
February) to showcase all that our community has to enjoy, at City parks and
facilities, museums, and other venues throughout South Bend. Each event has been
designed to entertain residents and visitors from 3 to 103, and everyone is invited!
City Celebration events are the perfect way to explore South Bend, at locales
including the Pierre Navarre Cabin at Leeper Park, the Muessel-Ellison & Ella
Morris Greenhouse & Conservatories, Howard Park Ice Rink, St. Joseph Co. Public
Library, the College Football Hall of Fame, Northern Indiana Center for History,
South Bend Regional Museum of Art, Studebaker National Museum, City
Cemetery, Coveleski Stadium, and the Jon Hunt Plaza (in front of the Morris
Performing Arts Center).
Details on each month's event will be issued the month prior to the event,
and will also be posted online at SBCitvCelebration.com. Information is also
available by calling 574.235.9798 or 574.235.9951.
South Bend City Celebration is a collaboration between the City and HPC to
- more -
complement the implementation of City Plan, South Bend's new 20-year strategic
plan for growth and development, by promoting and building awareness of
community assets.
