Scott Severns Memorial Fund Receives Generous Donation
Mishawaka,IN - Rick Singleton, CEO and Publisher of Imagination Publications LLC,
will submit a donation to the Scott Severns Memorial Fund this Thursday, October 26ffi at
the company's headquarters in downtown Mishawaka.
According to Singleton, money for the donation was raised through sponsorship of a
special commemorative issue of the Executive Journal Magazine. An entire issue was
devoted to Cpl. Scott Severns, a South Bend Police Officer who lost his life during a
failed robbery attempt. An Executive Journal photo documentary displayed in striking
detail the funeral and burial services conducted for the fallen officer. The issue also
included family pictures of Severns growing up in Michiana as well as recollections of
the former"Officer of the Year,"provided by his family, fellow policemen and the South
Bend Police Chief. The Scott Severns commemorative issue was one of the most
requested editions in the magazine's history.
Presentation of the donation to a representative of the memorial fund will be held at 2:30
p.m. Thursday October 26th in the offices of Imagination Publications LLC,located
at 201 North Main Street,Mishawaka. Those expected to be in attendance will be:
South Bend Mayor Steve Luecke, South Bend Police Chief Tom Fautz, Scott Severns'
Mother Kathy Karczewski, Scott's father Dennis Severns and stepmother Jeannie, as well
as representatives of the unit Scott served in, other members of the police department,
family and friends.
The Scott Severns Memorial Fund is dedicated to the founding of a Law Enforcement
Memorial and Burial Section at the Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend. The intention of
this area will be to serve as a final resting place for any active or retired law enforcement
officer from the area jurisdictions who wishes to be laid to rest on grounds dedicated to
their profession.
On hand will be individuals who can give a full explanation of the Severns family wishes
in this endeavor.
