Scott Sevems. Mayor Stephen I Luecke has ordered flags at all City buildings and facilities to be returned to full staff. In addition, all business and residential flags may also be returned to full staff. "The response of the community in remembering and honoring Cpl. Sevems,with flags and signage,has been outstanding," Mayor Luecke noted. "On behalf of Chief Fautz and the South Bend Police Department, I thank everyone for the kindness and support shown to the family and friends of Cpl. Scott Sevems and to members of the Police Department during this time of sorrow," stated Mayor Luecke. "Though flags are returned to full staff, we will keep in our thoughts, Cpl. Sevems, and all of the officers who serve and protect our City everyday." As we approach the Memorial Day weekend, residents are encouraged to remember and honor all those who serve and have served our country and our community. The traditional Westside Memorial Day Parade honoring these heroes,will be held on Monday, May 29, at 8:15 AM starting at the corner of Ford and Olive Streets and proceeding west along Ford Street to Summit Drive. -30-
