Luecke, Mayor RELEASE FROM: FOR RELEASE: Office of the Mayor Tuesday, September 6, 2005 SIGN UP NOW FOR NEUTER SCOOTER South Bend Animal Control will welcome Neuter Scooter back to the community on Tuesday, September 13, 2005. Cat owners are encouraged to sign up now for the low-cost spay/neuter service and 4-in-1 shot(including rabies) for just $40 in advance or $50 on the day of the appointment. Pre- registration is required for the Neuter Scooter and spaces fill up quickly. Why is it important to spay or neuter your cat? Cats produce more offspring than available homes. An unspayed female cat, her mate and all of their offspring, producing g litters per year, with 2.8 surviving kittens per litter can total over 11 million cats in 9 years! Cat owners are encouraged to register now in one of the following ways: PRE-REGISTRATION&PAYMENT OPTIONS: • Register and pay online at www.neuterscooter.com ($40) • Register online and pay (CASH ONLY) on the day of surgery at the Neuter Scooter site ($50) • Call 1-866-MOBLVET(662-5838) to register and pay $40 in advance or $50 on the day of surgery Cats must be over 6 weeks of age to be spayed or neutered. Cats must be 3 months of age to be eligible for the rabies shot. The location of the clinic and drop-off time will be given after an appointment is made.
