Luecke, Mayor RELEASE FROM: FOR RELEASE: Communications& Special Projects Date Storm Water Pollution Prevention Workshop A free workshop for local contractors and developers will be offered on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 from 1230 to 4:30 p.m., at the Osceola Town Hall, 850 Lincoln Way West, Osceola, IN, and on Wednesday, October 26, 2005 from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m., at Ivy Tech Community College, 220 Dean Johnson Blvd., South Bend, IN. Workshop topics will focus on storm water pollution prevention issues, best management practices for construction sites, and Indiana rules and regulations for obtaining permits. There will also be sessions on the Indiana Storm Water Manual and other information dealing with pre/post construction activities. This workshop is a requirement of the Federal Clean Water Act and part of our community's efforts to protect and enhance our local river and streams. It is sponsored by the Municipal Separated Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Entities, including St. Joseph County, City of South Bend, City of Mishawaka, Town of Osceola, Town of Roseland, Ivy Tech Community College, Bethel College, and in conjunction with the St. Joseph County Soil and Water Conservation District and Michiana Area Council of Governments, and the St. Joseph River Basin Commission.
