Agenda: Bill No. 06-11 —Appropriation—Kroc Center
At Councilmember's Puzzello request, the Mayor presented the specifics of Bill No. 06-11. This
bill asks the council to appropriate$1.5 received from the state to help establish the$10 million
dollar endowment fund to be dedicated toward the operating fund. At a previous meeting the first �
$500,000 from the state was appropriated by the Council. The remaining $1.5 million would be
received in due course. This is what was to be appropriated in Bill No. 06-11.
Major Bob Webster of the Salvation Army made a brief progress report on the construction of the
Kroc Center.
Councilmember Rouse asked if the City needed to come back to the Council for further action.
The Mayor said no. Councilmember Dieter suggested the Oliver family be commemorated
somehow in that this was J.D. Oliver Park at one time.
Citizen Member Kyle Chamberlin asked who would manage the endowment fund?
Bob Webster said the national Salvation Army office would serve as fund manager. They will
provide a guarantee of 5% of the$10 million annually for operating expenses of the Center.
Councilmember Oliver Davis motioned favorably. Councilmember Rouse seconded. All affirmed.
There being no further business to come before the committee, Chairperson Puzzello adjourned
the meeting at 3:47 p.m.
