Board met in special session at 10:00 A.M. All members present.
Bids were, received, opened and read for Trunk sewer on Michigan. Street rvroy
o✓ La Salle Avenue to the Center of Monroe Street, under Improvement, Resolution TNTo, il
367. In. the City of South Bend, Indiana. The same were all referred to the City
Civil Engineer for tabulation to be reported to the Board on Tuesday May 19th. ,

Estimated cost filed on Pavement Improvement on Mishawaka Avenue from Eddy
✓ Street to Nineteenth Street at 891,948.00)by the City Civil Engineer.
In r hard to complaint filed by Mr. Russ about to many pales at the
Grace, I&E. Church on Michigan Street and -mutt Street. The Pole and Wine Inspector
made the following report,
The Indiana & Michigan Electric Company now ha`re two poles in front of
this church. Underground Ordinance compells the bight Company to vacate Michigan
Street from pales=. The Light company agrees to go 'Jointly with the Street car Cots
and remove two poles.
The pole end rFire inspector -report on poles complained oi° in communi-
cation received from H.S. Cover on April 2811915. as follows,, These poles are
Central Union Telephone poles and should be removed and the cables can be put
on the Indiana & Michigan Ligh£ Poles. 4
Bond a.na contract for the resurfacing of North Mictig&n Street from
Foote Street to the nd"�h end of the MiM igan Street Bridge,also intersection -at 71cth
North end of Michilc n Street bridge, un� er Improvement Resolution No. 3S0 with
Aspna? tic Concrete pa.verient, signed by C.H.De Frees as prin.icipal and American
Surety Company of New York as surety was approved by the Board.
City Engineer -filed estimated cost on the pavenent improvement on
Fuerbringer iStreet from Cottage Grove Avenue to Sherman Avenue at ..... $2,S36.Oo
The following was Filed by the City Engineer, and Clerk instructed to c enc� copy
of same to the County Conimi.ssioners.
To the Hon.. Board of Publis forks,
of the City of South Bend, Indiana.,
Gentleman : -
The Contractors who built the North Michigan Street Bridge allowed s.
quantity of loose sand and gravel to wash down the river and this has formed a
sand bar just below the bridge near the middle of the river. I recommend that the
County Commissioners he requested to have the Contractors of the Bridge remove
this Sand and gravel from the River.

The Central Union Telephone Company reported that they strung their
wires on the Indiana & Michigan Elec. Co. poles at rear of 715 Riverside Drive.in
stead of the South Bend Home Telephone Compaxy poles.
Communication received from Birdsell Mfg. Company in regard to
filling in of the excavation remaining fron the co , st ruct ion of the Bovanan Creek
Trunk sewer through their premises on High Street. The Board instructed the City
Engineer to take this natter up with Stewart -Sheets Company,) and go see Birdsells.

,/10th. 1915 from. The South Bend Home Telephone Co. in regard to C.U.Tel. Co. setting

stub instead of using their pole. He.reported that the C .U.Tel. Co. nad used the
Indiana & Mich. Elec. Co. poles instead of the So.Bend Home Tel. Co. poles.
