Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.M. Mr. E. M. Morris absent. Mr. A.H.
Rice, acting President. I .
Mr. F. M. Jackson appeared before the Board and presentedproposed plat of
Sub. Div. of Bank Out B. in. Henry Leer's Sub. of the west part of lot 4 in the partition
of the estate of Samuel Leer.. The same was referred to the City Civil Engineer.
Mr. Roberts of the Indi.,na and Uicirdga,n Electric CompzaiW appeared before the
Board and presented a blue print of Boulevard l gjiti icp system on Jefferson Boulevard-
f'rora Eddy Street to Jacob Street. The .Board approved of the same as follows:— 40 Watt
Lamps same as on St. Louis Street Boulevard. Discontinuing cluster lamp at southeast
corner of Eddy Street and. Jefferson Boulevard.
Mr. Rudolph Elbel appeared before the Board and filed a complaint that he was
f unable to locate sewer tap in front of lot No. 10 Burrou ivs AdeU tion on. Short Navarre
Street. The matter was referred to the City Civil Extineer to be taken up with the
contractors. who constructed said sewer.
Communication received From the Postal —Telegraph Cable Company in regard to
✓ moving their pole lines on Lincoln Highway West, to the Cit-ynlimits. back to curb line,
also asking perm p!z on to set forth eight fifty foot poles commencing at the C.S.&S.
R.R. on Lincoln Way west any to the City Limits. The pole and wire inspector reported
that no poles were allowed to stand on Michigan. Ave. from Forth Scott Street to Olive
Street under ground Ordinance No. 1690. The Board ordered that the same be held up.
Mr. Chas. Hagerty, attorney for Thomas Williams. Plumber appeared before
1 the Board in regard to Mr. Williams being unable to locate sewer taps on lots 7 &8
Vail's Addition on William Street. Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. C.H.DeFrees
Contractor for said sewer to get in touch with Mr. Thomas Williamsplumber and locate
taps on said lots.
Petition filed with the Board for a light at corner of Orange and Fremont
f Street.
¢bxtimuation certificate of Bond No. 779331 for One Thousand. Dollars of
r the South Bend Home Telephone Company filed by the American. Surety Company and approved
by the Board.
The following complaints were reported on by D.C. Layton., Street Cam-
f missioner and. placed on file.
Dumping of s.sl�!es in. Calvert Street and Marine Street. Signs were put up
by Chief of Police M.F.Kerr.
Mr. Mountjoy promises to attend to defective sidewalk at 116 Miltou Ave
Call up iia Thirty days. a
Mr. C.C. Shively has been ordered to repair defective sidewalk at N.W.
corne-r of Sample and Lafayette Street. Call up in Thirty days.

Pale and wire inspector reported. that Indiana & Michigan Elec. Co. pole
was already removed to the proper place at rear of 909 Forest Avenue. This pole was in
way of drive., Hi•s.'report was approved by the Board.

full except that of L.H.Webster in the sun of $3.60, e.nd he has been personally notified
by the writer and draft is it our office waiting for his receipt, to —wit:—

$9?16.22; Indiana Lumber Company, principal, interest, and attorneys fees, "6,35; W.D.
Shimp, principal and interest $1901.49, National Lumber Company account,$473.46,City
Water Works, 69.48; The National Company,prinicipal and :in.terest,$542.30.
We exhibited receipts for the payment of each of the above claims to the City
Controller, and have now forwarded said receipts to the Southern Surety Company. Further
confirmation of the payment of these accounts can be had by calling the respective claimants.
Kindly direct the City Controller to pay the balance of the funds due the con—
troller to pay the balance of the funds due the contractor, Stewa.rt,Sheets & Company,
to their assigRs. the St. Joseph Loan & Trust Company at - once.

South Bend,, Indiana.
In the above matter reimonstrances were filed bearin'g.hhe names of a I bout
Four hundred. ' an .0 fAY six (456) property owners and about Two hundred property owners
appeared and remonstrated* It was unanimously moved and carried that Colidenne t ion
Resolution Na. 29 passed by the Board of Public Works on the 5th. day of' Decembpr
1913 and approved 2.nd 'day of January 1914 for the condemnation of real estate for the
opening of William Street is hereby and all things rescinded, and all benefits had
thereon acre hereby,cancelled and declared null and void*
✓ Deferred hearing given on pavement, of lst. alley East of St. Joseph
Street from Wayne Street to the first alley south, under Improvement Resolution No.
369, In the City of Sotth Bend, Indiana.
In the. above matter remonstrators appeared, but no -further remonstrance
was filed. The Board after. due consideration decided to rescind -all action on -said
resolution.
