Applications for permission to set billboards by the South Bend Billposting Company were approved as follow$ To set billlboard 50x10 ftj of sleet iron at 403 E. Sample Street on -property of Daniel Dickey, To set billboard 25 X10 ft. of sheet iron at 40S So. Chapin Street, property of M.R. Turners Association. To set billboard 15' X10 ft E) f sheet iron at 211 N. Michigan St. property Garbriel Summers. The pole and wire ,inspector weported that the guy wire belonging to the A. --The South Bend Home Telephone Company in front of 913 Prairie Avenue was O.K. Partial estimate allowed Harry N. Barnes, for pavement on Cottage Grove Ave.me from Grand View Avenue to Oak Street for the amount of.... The following communication was received from the Park Boa.rd'and. approved. To the Honorable Board of Public Works,, South Bend, Indiana. Gentlemen: — The department of Public Works of the City expect to open the Parks to the public on May lst.21915. and the Board would be pleased to have the lights installed by that date. Yours truly,, ARTHUR P. PERLEY, Park Executive. By order of the BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS. Lights ordered turned on as per above request. The following communication was received from the :Comm€n�­:Council and placed on file. To the Board of Public Works o of the City of South Bend, Ind. Geftt lemen: — At the regular meeting of the Common Council held Monday April 26th.1915 the following motion prevailed; MOTION BY COUNCILMAN HAGERTY,, ( VERBAL ) I move that the City Clerk be instructed to notify -the Board of Public Works have the nuisance of ol"d telephone telegraph and electric light poles abated and that this order be enforced and all "dead" poles removed at once. Permission was granted the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company to replace p stub on the north side of Kenwood Ave., property line between 2209 and 2217 Kenwood. Stephenson of the St. Josej3h ]Loan and Trust Company, Mr. Hammersehmidi Mr. S., Sheets and Mr. Donald Snith of the Southern Surety Company appeared, before the Board in regard. to $urning over the money now collected to the bank from the Bowman Creek Trunk sewer assessments, and the following agreement was signed.. TO THE ST. JOSEPH LOAN AND TURST COMPANY, ,South Bend, Indiana. This is to Inform you that the sum of Two Thousand ($2,000.00) Dollars is to be deposited with you out of fund first turned to you by the City of South Fiend briBowman Creek Trunk sewer assessments in the name of City of South Bend. and Southern Surety Company. Said sum to be held uhtil a eertifica.te is issued by the Board of Public Works of said City that said work is done in accordance with the original e6htr46et' AAtisf&etory to the City. When said certificate is issued and de- livered to said St. Joseph Loan and Trust Co. then said amount is to be turned over to the Southern Surety Company. Dated. his 30th. day of April,1915. MITH, Vice President. The St. Joseph Loan & Trust a Co. By R. C. Steph enson. Vice Pres.and Treas. Ybu are hereby authorized to turn over to St. Joseph Loan and Trust Company the sum of One Hundred. and Ten Thousand ($110.000.00)Dollars out of and from the Bowman Creek Trunk sewer assessment funds on condition that reeeipts be obtained from said St. Jose,)fi Loan and Trust Company showing that this amount be applied on certificates which they now hold against the City in the sum of One hundred and emit Thousand ($10$,000.00)Dollars, and Two Thousand ($2,000.00)Dollars to be de- posited in the name of the City of South Bend and the Southern Surety Company. It is understood that this One Hundred and Ten Thousand ($110.000.00)Dolla,rs above mentioned is to include previous accounts turned over to said Company. BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. F? . M.MORRIS PRES. , The Enard ordered. that the South Bend Home Telephone Company be notifed to move their pole now standing; at the rear of 827 Forest Avenue ta[ south to the property line. Side -walk extensions were ordered put in by the City Contractor H.N. Ba .Barnes at the Northwest corner -f Eddy Street and Mishawaka Avenue, also at Northwest corner of Wayne and Tenor Streets. Sidewalk to be repaired at corner of Jefferson Blvd and Vistula Ave in fennt of Muellerl s Grocery as per agreement. P re s i dent.
