Chief of Police Kerr appeared before the Board in regard to having the ✓crossings at Michigan Street and Washington Ave, Michigan and Jefferson, Michigan and Wayne Street and Main and Washington painted with white lines, to comply: with Ordinance No. 1559.. The Board informed the Chief the same would be referred to the Street Commissioner to take. care. _..of. - A remonstrance was received and placed on File against the pavement on /Fu.erbringer Street Bond and contract for tize pipe, sever on. Fellows Street From Dubail Ave /to the lst alley North of Dubail Avenue, signed by L.H.Webster as prinicipal and The London & Lancashire Guarantee and Accident Company s2 as sureties was approved by the Board. Excavation bond for the Sum of One Thousand ($11000.00)Dollars signed ✓by W.W. Sibley Company as principal and Globe Indemnity Company as sureties Was approved by the Board. Contractors bond for the sum of One Thousand ($12000.00)Dellare signed by Alex Bukowski as prinicipal and United.States Fifelity & Guaranty.Company of Baltimore, Md.- as sureties was approved by the Board. Contractors bond for the sum of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) signed by Hugh Anderson as prinicipal. and ;United States Fidelity & Gtaranty Company of Baltimore, Md. as sureties was approved ;by the Board. Billboard. The same was read and referred to the City Civil Engineer for investigation. MrS S. W. Robertson appeared before the Board and asked. that 4ft. of alley at rear of Lot 35 Original Plat of South Bend, be vacated. The Board referred the V same to the City Engineer. The Board by unanimous consent hereby reseind.sall fo rimer action on the eonstruction of grade, curb and wAkk on Donald Street from Michigan Street to Irwin Street under Improvement Resolution No. 340. All members present. f Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 367 for the Trunk suer on Mich*ga,n Street from LaSalle Avenue to South Btreet, In the City of South Bend Indiana. Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared and remonstvances filed.:. Attonney Elmer Peak appeared before the Board and riled a, remonstrance representing property owners owning or residing Ton property located east of Mid.igan and between Jefferson Street and L. S.&M. S. R. R. in this City. Also remonstrance filed by Mrs,. E..!k. Kna,,�p. The Board after due consideration decided to take the above matter under advisement until Tuesday April 20th.. ,1915 at 7:45 P.M. Deferred hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 357 for the pipe on Cherry Street from Washington Avenue to lst. alley South of Jefferson Blvd,in the City of South Bend, Indiana. Upon said hearing remonstrators appeared, but no remonstrance was filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, deeides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvemments are equa.I to the estimated cost of the same,#as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupoh takes final aetion on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things ratified, aDnfirmed and approved. Resolved further, that not -tees be publtished on the 17th. , day of April, 1915 and on the 24t1a. day of Apri1,1915 in a newspaper of general circulation in said. City, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the 4th. day ofMay,1915. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Bids were opened for the redeoora:tincr and repainting of walls ano wood- work in Police Station in the City Hall pv€is awarded to Seifert Bros. and read as follows: - Rork done in the Police Station. The Stationwall is to be given 1 coat of glue size, i coat Alasbastine all holes to be ft lled up and put in a good con- dition before any Kalsomine is put on, All voodwork in the station is to 1 coat varnish also the hall side of it-1 cupboard=l -coat stain, 1 coatshellas, 1 coat varnish the hall 5 ft. high, lower part is to be given 1 coat oil paint,upper part 1 coat size, 1 coat Alabastine, 2 halls -nd alsoincluding toilets, the iron setps 1 coat black -iron paint, the iron gates -and -fenee 1 coat paint. The upper the same as it was before cream ceiling lower part black in bath room, this does include what Mr. Moore had shown us going through and figuring. The sum of $65.00. The above bid being the lowest.of three bids. Street Cormissioner made the following report, regarding defeettv.e walks Jat 811 and S`15 No. Main Street.
