Bids were opened for Pipe sewer on Fellows Street from Dubail Avenue to
ist alley north, Grade, curb and walk on. Donald Street from Michigan Street to Main St,
Pavement on Division. Street ' from Michigan Street to 1st. alley east and sidewalks and
/curbs . on Various. Streets in the City. The sane were read and referred to the City Eng-
ineer for tabulation to be reported at; 7 45 P.M. this day.
r. George Baker, appeared before the Hoard. in regard to the wijidtng -of
the Old Court House Clock, requesting thatthe City stand, the expense of same. The Board
took this matter under advisement.

the matter of. oil certain streets in the City this year:,, The Board took the above matter

Mr. Seifert, Councilman appeared before the. Board and filed a petition
,or a light on Miner Street .at- corner. of Walsh Street., The Board ordered the same
placed on file, „aad advised, Mr ;..Seifert that ,they would look this corner over vtien, on.
there trip to investigate the placing of lights.-,
Deferred: hearing had on Division Street from Olive Street to Meade Street
Under Improvement Resolution No. 358. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter Attorney H. A.Wair.appeared in the interest of the
Singer Mfg. Company acid remonstrated. The Board decided to defer all action on the same
until Tuesday April 20th.,1915 at 7:45 P.M.
Petition for grade, -curb and •.aalk on Lafayette Street from Broadway to

Contract for the pipe sewer on Fellows Street from Dubail Avenue to the

Engineer reported on complaint of defective asphalt pavement on 111
Peimsylvania Avenue, and the Board ordered that Rankert & Eggleston be notified to make
the, necessary repairs.
City Civil Engineer filed the follovdng estimated costs.

✓In the aBove matter the Board deferred all action until April 20th. 11915 at 7:45 P.M.
City Civil Engineer reported on complaint of fence which was across
,alley at rear of Lots 15 K7 in Witherill's Addition* The Board instructed the Clerk to
notify Mr.Jerry Moore to place fence where engineer plaeed stakes.

Be It Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend,
St. Joseph County, State of`Indiana,, that it is desired and deemed necessary to
improve VASSAR AVENUE FROM RIVERSIDE DRIVE TO PORTAGE AVENUE; as f ollowa,to-wit:-
By grading and pairing the roadway, also. grading- and paving the roadway
of all intersecting and entering streets and alleys ilying within said portion of said
Vassar Avenue not included in the roadway, to be improved with ASPHALT ,ASPHALTIC
CONCRE:TE,BITULITHIC OR BRICK laid on a five (5) inch Port.. -.and Cement Gravy 1 Concrete'
Foundation.. Plaeing the necessary marginal cement eurb, curbing the roadway with
cement curb where same is not already constructed. Also the construction, of the
necessary storm water inlets and conduits. All as shover on the plans and in accord-
ance with the profiles, detail drawings and specifications on file in the office of
of the Department of Public Works of the City of South Bend,Indian.a.
The cost of the improvement herein provided for,*except street. anti
alley intersections, shall be paid by special assessme�it to be levied upon the pro-
perty specially benefitted, to the amount that the same may be legally assessed there-
for, in accordance with 'an Act of the General Assembly of the State of Indiana,
entitled „An Act Concerning Municipal Corporations." approved March 6,1905m and in
aceordance with and pursuant to the provisions of all acts amendatory and supplemental

The cast of all street and alley intersections, including one-half
of the . width of the improvement opposite street and -alleys -which run into, but do not
cross said roadway herein proposed to be improved and that portion of such street and
alloy running upon property belonging to said City, or upon property not subject to
such assessment, shall be paid by the City in cash out of its general fund, if able -
to do so, or from a fund created by a special assessment to be levied under the pro-
visions of Section 109 of the above entitled Act.
Assessments of ten Eb llars and more against each lot, if deferred
are to bepaid in ten equal a-,nual ALnstallments, with interest at the rate of Six per
cent per antrum. A bond or bonds will be issued to the contract to the amount of
such deferred assessments is pro rata payment for such improvement:

Works of this City, as the time and place for the publie consideration of said pro-

terested, or whose property is liable to be assessed for said improvement, and i.11

Sosepu County, State of Indiatta, That' it is d€nmed necessary to improve The South
side of Broadway from Main Street to Franklin Street as follows:
By the construction of
cement sidewalk on the south side of said. street v6ere not already eoustructed. All
as shown, on the plans, and in, accordance with the specifications, detail drawings
_and profiles on file in the office of the Department of Publi c Works of the City o f
South Bend,Ixd:ianat in accordance with the profile, details; drawings and specifications

JRESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,,
COUNTY OF ST.JOSEPH,STATE OF INDIANA. That the construction of a local sewer,in-
tended and adapted only for local use by the property holders, whose property abuts
thereon, and not intended or adapted for reeeiv.inG sewerage from collateral drains,
be and the same is ,hereby ordered -in and along BOWMAN STREET FROM THE BOVNAN CRC}EK
TRUNK SEINER to a point 130 feet east of the east line of Michigan. Street as follows,
to -wit: -
Beginning at the intersection of the ce ter line of Boman Street produced
e st and the Boman Creek Trunk sewer; thence west on the center line of Boman Creek
Street and Bowman Street produced east to the center of Carroll Street with a 15 inch
vitrified pine sewer; thence still west along the center line of. Boman Street to a. point
about 130 feet east of the east line of Michigan Street tdth a 12 inch vitrif'ie'd pipe
sewer. Together with the necessary manholes, inlets, flush tank, conduits and house,
conne etions to the curb line long the line of said improv,et!ent. All as shown on the
plan, and in accordance with the profiles, detail drawings aid specifications on file
in the office of=the Department of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
And such improvement is now ordered and said sewer, with all its appurtenances
shall°be constructed in accordance with the profile and specifications now on file in
the office of the Department of Publ1a Works of said City. The cost of said improve-
ment shall ebe apportioned against and paid by the property holders whose property abuts
thereon, and upon. the City of South Bend if the City is benefited by said improvement,
all according to the method and manner provided for in Act of the General Assembly of

prove TECUMSEH AVENUE FROM WAKEWA AVENUE TO POKAGON STREET AS FOLLOWS,to-wit:-
By grading
and macadamizing the roadway, also grading and macadamizing the roadway of all intersecting
and entering streets and alleys, lying within said portion .of said Tecumseh Avenue.
Placing the necessary marginal cement curb, curbing the roadway with cement curb where
same is not alreadv constructed. Also the construction of the necessary storm water
inlets and conduits. All as shown on the plans, and in accordance with profiles, detail
dra-M.ngs and specifications on file in the office of the Department of Public Works of the

improve Dayton Street from Leer Street to Marine Street as follows,to-wit-
By grading said street from property line to property line; paving the
roadway from curb line to curb line with gravel three (3) inches in depth; curbing the
roadway with -cement curb and constructing a f1ve(5) foot cement walk on both sides of
said -street All as shown on the plans, and in accordance with the plrofiles, detail
drawings, and specifications on -file in the office of the bepartment oX Public Works
of the City of South Bend, Indiana; which are hereby adopted; and such,improvement is
now ordered.

moneys as shall have actually been received by the City from the assessments for such
improvement, or such moneys as said City is by said entitled Act and amendments and
supplements thereto required to pay.. All proceedings had, and work done in the making
of said improvement, .assess: ent of property, collection of assessments and issuance
of bonds therefor, shall be as provided for in said. above entitled Act and Acts
amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto.

Theundersigned appointed appraisers in the above entitled
cause hereby report that they took oath before the Clerk of this Court as required by-law
and that on March 24th. 1915, they proceeded to view hhe proposed improvement and the real
estate described in the petitions filed in this cause and. they now report after viewing such
improvement and the premises described in the petition the assessments gomplained`of,in,the
said petition are excessive and. they report that the real estate described .in said petition
