Board met in regular session at 1.0:00 A.M. Mr. A. H. Rice absent.
A "delegation of business men.owning property on Michigan Street appeared
`before the Board in regard to the construction of the Michigan Street Trunk sewer and
pavement. (The following were present. Mr. Chas. Goetz, Air. J. P. McGill, Mr. Chas.
Coonley, Mr. Frank C. Toepp, Mr. J. E. Neff, Mr. Chas: Speth, Mr. Eldridge, Mr. Aaron
Jones and' Dudley M. Shively.) Mr. Chas. Speth stated tits mother wanted her name withdrawn
from remonstrance filed sometime ago. A petition was drawn up and Mr. Ohas. Goetz took
same to secure more signatures.
Contract on the Nineteenth Street pipe sewer, under Improvement Resolution
,/No. 360 was awarded to Staples and Ackerman, Contractors, they being the lowest bidders
in Mishawaka and South Bend.
Bids were received, opened and read for lumber to be used during the year
✓ for repair work by the Street Department, awarding of same deferred until evening at
7:45 P.M.:
Permission granted Indiana & Michigan Electric Company to set a new
pole at the Northwest corner df Emerick and Colfax Avenue. The same having been recom-
✓ m( nded by .the Pole and wire inspector.
Petition Piled by Pres. Augustine of Board of Safety of this wkty for
a pavement on lst. alley. east of Central Fire Station from 'Mayne Street to 1st. alley
south of Wayne Street. The same was referred to the City Engineer for a resolution.
Petition filed with the Board for a pavement on Mishawaka Avenue from
Nineteenth Stre*M.' to EdAY Street. The sane was read and referred to the City Civil
Engineer for investigation.
Engineer filed aSsessment roll and final estimate forSub-Trunk sewer on
Indiana Avenue from Miami Street to Marine Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 363.
In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published on
the 6th. day of March,1915 and on the 13th. day of March,1915 in the South Bend Daily
Tribune, stating than this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments
at its office in the City Hall on the 23rd. day of March,1915 at 7:45 P.M.
Resolved further, that. the entire work under the above contracts be ac—
cepted and approved and the final estimate thereon a lowed. Notice of this resolution
shall be published on the 6th. day of March,1915 and on the 13th. day of March,1915 in
the South. Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the ac—
ceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the 23rd. day of March,1915 at
7:45 P.M.
Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for cement walk and curb
✓on Various Street in the City , under Improvement Resolution No, 294.
Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six
consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing o the Sthe day of March,1915
stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its
office in the City Hall on the 23rd..day of March,1915 at 7:45 P?M.
Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contract be
accepted end approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolu—
tion shall be published --on the Sthe day of March,1915 in the South Bend Daily Tribune
stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office
in the City Hall on the` 23rd. day of March,1915 at 7:45 P.M.

294 (also known as Various Streets) In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Resolved, that notices as to.the amounts of assessments be published for six
consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing on the.9th. day of
Larch 1915, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such
assess: ents at its office in the City Hall on the 2.3rd. day of March,1915 at 7:45 P.k
Resolved further, that the entire work under the above.contract be accepted
and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution shall
be published on the -nth* day of March,1915 in the South Bend Daily tribune, stating
that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in

Board met in regular session at 7:45 P.M,. All members present.
Deferred hearing had on Pavement-of.Allen Street from Oak Street to
Van Buren Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 333,In the City of South Bend,
Indiana.
In,the above matter remonstrators appeared, but no further remonstrance
was filed. The Board after due consideration decided to take the above matter under
advisement until Tuesday Burch 9th.,1915 at 7:45 P.M.
Deferred hearing had on Pavement on Franklin Street from Sample St.
to* Indiana Avenue,, under Improvement Resolution No. 334, In the City of South Bend,
Indiana.
In the above'matter remonstrator`s appeared but no -further remonstrance
was Filed. The Board having said matter under advisement find that the remonstrance
Piled April 24th.,1914 should be sustained and that the resolution should be and the
same is hereby and it all things rescinded.
Contract for lumber awarded to Sanders and Egbert for lumber for
Repair work for the Street Dept. for the ensing year at the rate of 826.00pe`rrthousand ft.

we beg to submit a price of $26.00 per M. for --he oak plank and 4 X4
reQuired for crossing work for the ensTng year. we understand the specifications and
other conditions are similar to that of last year*
We will also furnish piling strips for any plank that is put on stcks
(free of charge).

Mr. W. G. Crabill, attorney for the Grand Trunk Western sty. Company
appeared before the Board in re Bard to placing supports under the St. Louis Street Bridgego

Deferred hearing had on pavement on Division Street from St. Joseph St.
to Michigan Street, under Improvement Resolution No.' 361. In the City of South Bend,
✓ Indiana.
In the above matter the Board decided to defer all action until
Tuesday March 9th.,1915 at 1:45 P.M.
Councilman Andrew Seifert, appeared before the Board in regard to billboard
on South Bend Avenue. The Board informed Mr. Seifert that the billboard was reported to
/have been put up according to Ordinance and same could not be changed unless Ordinance
was revised.
Complaintreceived of defective sidewalk on Huron Street and Pulaski St.
which was put in by Joseph Szweda in 1913. Tom --same was referred to the City Civil

The following was received from the Street Commissioner and referred to the City
Attorneg. r
Board of Public Works,
I would like to ask the Boarff;s consent to purchase and instali street
/ signs. -
V But would suggest before doing so, that the council be asked about Street
names such as (Washington) Jefferson etc,) whether. (street) ,Avenue) or (Boulevard)
Lafayette Boulevard south to Monroe Street or Lafayette Street.
