Stover appeared before,th-e Board and presented plat of Stover ✓ Longley Addition to South Bend, Indiana. I,4r. Crumpacker -attorney for the Vandalia.Ry. Company appeared before the Board and remonstrated a ;ai.nst their assessment on the Bowman Creek Trunk 'serer. The Board decided to take the above matter under advisement. Bids were received, opened and read for pipe sewer on ?Nineteenth Street under Improvement Resolution No. 360.in the. City of South Bend, Indiana. The saY,ie were ,/r/eferred to the City Engineer for tabulation. Mr. Baker, at:torhey for the Birdsell Mfg. Company appeared before the Board and filed remonstrances Ps attorney for the following Persons Birdsel l Mfg. Compagv, Chas. A. & Lucy J. Tasher, John D. Farnemann, Arthur J. & Wellie S. Eckman, Charles & Etta 'Whitmore, Eli 1q. & Bessie E. Krou, Marie Eckman & Joseph- I- Anna. Fc?.nan agahnst their assessments on the Bowman Creek Tru ,, sewer. Remonsteance filed February 22nd. 1915 by Sibley Machine Fool -Co. against assessment on Bowman Creek Trunk sewer. Mr. M. Hartman, Engineer for the Oliver Hotel Company appeared before the Board in regard to the Heating contract before the Oliver Hotel Company and the /City. The matter was d.icussed but ho action taken. Board ordered. a, light on LaPorte Avenue on the west side gust opposite the lst alley nur.th of Colfax Avenue instead of one ordered in list approved by Board on February 9th.3.915., Deputy Street Commissioner Fites made report on Comp4int filed by Councilman Goebel in regard to bad bole at the twitch of the Northern Indiana Ry. /company south of Sample Street on South Michigan St) that the Street Ry. will have the same repaired. • permission granted the South Bend Home Telephone Company to reset two stubs and nne pole,.and to set one new pole and one anchor on Walnut Street ✓ the first alley north of Division Street. Defer ed hearin:` on assessment roll for Bowman Creer Trunk server, under Improvement Resolution No. 181. Mr. R. Donmoyer n;a s present and remonstrated J against his assessment, Mr. C. R. Aphtorpe, Special Tax An. for the New York Central Ry. Company also remonstrated against the Ry. Company assessment. The Board decided to te.l.e the assessment roll under advisement until Tuesday March 2nd.1915 at / Mr. Ift. Goebel, Councilman of the Seventh Ward, appeared before the Board at their request, in regard to petitions for improvemmnts that -he filed. The following petitions were filed and referred to the City Civil Engineer for Investigation. JCement sidewalk on South Franklin Street from East Broadway to East Calvert S6-reet. Grade, curb and walk on East Dayton Street from 141a.r_ role 3treE:t to Leer J Street. Cement walk on south side of East Broadway from South Main Street to ✓ South Franklin Street. (.grade, curb and walk on south Lafayette Street from.East Broadway to JE. Indiana Avenue. Sidewalk on east side of Sm th Hi Fri Street from East Pennsylva is Ave to Broadway Street. The letting of the contract for the pipe sewwer on Nineteenth Street / from St. Joseph River to Mishawaka Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 360 ( was deferred until Tuesday March 2nd.1915 at 10 00 A.M. Remonstrance was riled by p -:�operty owners oil Indiana Avenue and. Marine Street against assessment on Bowria.m'Creek sewer . Petition filed for a street light on Hildreth Ct. and Clwer Street. J The same was referred, to the Street Commissioner for investigation. Petition filed by property owners 'on Leeper Avenue for a pipe sewer on said avenue between Angella Avenue to St. Joseph River. The same was read and f referred to the City Engineer for investigation. Plat of Stover—Longley Addition to the City of South Bend,. Indiana J was approved by the Board. Communication received from the Studebaker Coloration in regard to Street Flushers. The same was read and placed oil file. The Street CommisE ioner filed the following report. Gentlemen: — I would recommend a light of some kind at, the corner or Kembel Ave. ,J and Ewing Avnue. The distance from ot:ier lights is sufficient altrLough this point is at the end of Kemble Ave -flue at most used entrance to Rum Village Woods. The Board deferred the placing of t_iis light until a future date. Deferred hearing on pavement on Division Street from St. Josep�_ St. f to Michigan Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 361. Tn the above matter the Foard decided to defer all action until Tuesday IVi'arch 2nd.1915 at 10:00 A.M. Company south of Sample Street on South Micn.igan Street, Deputy St. Commissioner-d. W. Fites, reports said hole has been taken bare of by the Ry. Co. Communication received, read and placed on file from Robert W Hunt & Co. Engineers of C11icago, in regard to testing paving materials. The City Engineer submitted the list of property owners in tl e matter lof the appropriation of certain property under condemnation Resolution No. 34according to Resolution on Page 425 of this record, whinh list includes the names of the o-,ivmers and holders of property and of interests therein sought to be taken or beneficai_ly or in- juriously effected, and the description of the several pieces of property Irklich is af- fected b,7 she said appropriation proceedings. Thereupon the Board proceeded to award the dams: -°es sustained and to assess the benefits accruing to'each piece of property upon said list.
