JMr Christman at the request of the Board was present in regard to the bill sent to the Board under date of October 21st.,1914n for the rebuilding of fences and sheds on the Bowman Creek Trunk sewer right of way. Also for the paymeh for the pavement removed by them at 317 and 319 South Michigan Street and rel1laced by the Street Commissioner. Mr: Christman stated he would file a Excavation bond ad and file a report on Tuesday November 24th.,1914 at 10:00 A.14. The Street Commissioner made a report on the petition for a limit at the S. E. corner of -Osborn and Miller Ct. To the Hon. Board of Public Works Gentlemen:— I would su 'gest the granting of this petition. Only for a small light at the S. E. corner of Osborn and Miller Court as marked on attached drawing It is a very dark spot. D.C.Layton, St. Commissioner. The Board ordered a 100 Watt Light placed at South East corner of Osborn Street and Miller. Court. Also a l00 Watt Light at the north side of the lst alley North of LaSalle :avenue and 1st. alley west of Main Street, where light was removed under date of September 26th.,1914. Partial estimate allowed N. N . Barnes on the Sherman Avenue Brick Pavement for the amount of.............................................$2,319.03 Application for billboard and bulletin Board by the Soutl Bend d Billposting Company on South Michigan Street, was read and referred to the inspector for investigation. Plumbing inspector Mr. Edward Weaver was instructed by the Board to be present at the meeting at 7:45 P.M. this 17th., day of Noverber,1914. Bond and contract for pipe sewer on College Street from. Lincoln Way West to Vassar Avenue nnder'Improvement Resolution No. 363, signed by L. H. Webster as principal and The London & Lancashire Guarantee & Accident Company of Canada as sureties, was approved by the Board. Bond and contract for pipe sewer on Milton Avenue from High Street to Miami Street under Imps vement Resolution No. 347, signed by De Peape & Coussens as principal and U nited States Fidelity & Guaranty Company of Baltimore, Md. as sureties, was approved by the Board. Bond and contract for pipe sewer on Indiana Avenue from Miami Street to Marine Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 362, signed by L. H. Webster as principal and The London &- Lancashire Guarantee & Accident Company of Canada as sureties, was approved by the Board. Remonstrance addressed to the Honorable Common Council and referred to the Sg?.fety Department , against billboards in City , was presented by the Clerk of the Safety Board and. the sane was -read and placed on file. Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for pipe sewer on Broadway Street from Bowman Creek Trunk sewer to .Carroll Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 320. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. 1h the above matter Mr. Mossholder and other property owners appeared - and remonstrated against assessment and the condition of the "Street, but no written remonstrance was filed. The Board decided to defer all action on above assessment roll for one month from date or December 15th.,1914 at 7:45 P.M. Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for.Bick pavement on Sherman Avenue from Michigan Avenue to Oak Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 301. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find ,:hat the property assessed in said roll filed November 4th.,1914 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said roll,,and the Board further find that the assessment roll filed November 4 th.,1914 and the final esti-Inate allowed November 4th.21914 should be and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for Concrete pavement on lst alley west of -Main Street from Madison Street to La Salle Avenue and the lst alley North of La Sa le Avenue from Main Street to Lafayette Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 322. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter, no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said rolls filed November 3rd.11914 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shorn on said rolls, and the Board further find that the assessement roll filed November 3rd.,1914 and the final estimate allowed November 3rd.,1914 shotlid be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. . Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for pipe sewer on v/ Terrace and Blaine Avenue from Portage Avenue to Woodward Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 323. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said roll filed November 3rd.1914 is bene±'fitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said m 11, and the Board further find that the assessment toll filed November 3rd.,1914 and the final estimate allowed November 3rd.,1914 should be and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Mr. Jere Hagerty, Councilman of the 3rd. Ward, appeared before the Board relative to the placing of a light at the Corner of Orchard and Scott Street, also at Dunn and Scott Street. The Board informed him that they would make a trip and look over these places. Mr. Adam Hunsberger together with a number of citizens of River Park appeared before the Board and filed a petition for a light at Mishawaka Avenue and 10 th. , ,Street in River Park. The same was' read and referred to the Street Commissioner ✓ for investigation. Petition filed with the Board for the installing of a gas light at the intersection of Vine and Eleventh Street in River Park, The same was read and referred to the Street Commissioner for investigation. Petition filed with the Board for an electric light at the corner of South Fellows Street and East Donald Street. The same was read and referred to ✓the Street Commissioner for investigation. At the Boardts reouest Mr. Edward Weaver, plumbing inspector was present before the Board, and the matter of prope ,ty owners connecting their houses /to the Broadway sewer was discussed by the Board. Mr. Weaver stated that he had issued permits to property owners on Boradway stye t. 542 JMr. Sheets and Mr. Stewart of the Firm of Stewart -Sheets Company, Contractors on the Bowman Creek Trunk Sewer, was present before the Board. The .Board had up the matter of connecting small sewers with the Bowman Creek Tmunk sewer. JEngineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for Asphalt Pavement on Cottage Grove Avenue from Michigan Avenue to Portage Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 335. In the`'..City of South. Bend, Indiana. Resolved, that notices d's to the amounts of assessments be published for,six consecutive days in the South $end. Daily Tribune, commencing on the 30th., day of November,1914 stating hat this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 15th., day of December,1914 at 7:45 P.M. Resolved further , that the entire work under the above contracts be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 30th., day of Novembdr7if&4South Bend Daily Tribune, statig that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the 15th., day of December,19 4 at 7:45 P.M. JEngineer filed assessment roll and final est-;mate for Bituminous Macadam Resurfacing of Marion Street from W. line of St. Joseph Street to E. line of Lot 5 H.&W. Addition, under IMprovement Resolutipn No. 33F. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be pulished for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing on the 30th., day of November,1914 stating that this Board will -give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its of�ice in the City Hall on the 15th., day of December,1914 at 7:45 P.I4. Resolved further, that the entire work under the above ,contracts be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this resolution shall be published on the 30th., day of November,1914 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance -of such v;rork' a,t its office in the City Hall on the 15th., day of December,1914 at-7:45 P.M. 1 In the matter of the hearing on the pavement of Division St. from Mich.
