Bids were received, opened and read for pipe seiner on College Street from
Lincoln Way blest to Vassar Avenue. Also on Pipe sewer on Indiana Avenue from Miami
tt to Marine Street. Bids were referred to t_ie City Engineer for tabulation to be
reported back Tuesday November lOth.',1914 at 7:45 P.M.
At the Board's request; Mr. E. T. Bonds Manager of the Central Union Tel. V
Co. and Mr. E. Daicey, Manager of the South Bend Home Telephone Co. were present
before the Board. The underground Or inane was dieussed by the Managers of both
J Company's and the Board. The Board _ . e both Company's that the Underground
Ordinanace should be complied with. Also the South Bend borne Telephone Company
were ordered to remove all the unused telephone poles in tale City as soon as poss—
ible, which they agreed to do.

Hearing given on assessment roll and -final estimate for Trunk sewer on
-Leer and Calvert Street from St. Joseph River to Vernon Street, under Improvement Resolu-
tion No. 309. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter remonstrators appeared but no written remonstrance
was filed. The Board after due consideration find that the property assessed in said
rolls filed October 20th.,1914 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as diown on said
rolls, and the Board further find that the" assessment roll filed October 20th. ,1914
and the final estimate allowed October 20th.,1914 should be and the same are hereby in all
things ratified, confirmed and approved.

✓ on Cottage Grove Avenue rom Michigan Avenue to Portage Avenue, In the City of South Bend,
Indiana.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances
were filed. The. Board therefore find that the property assessed in said lolls filed
October 13th.,1914 is benefitted in the amountlof assessments as shown on said rolls, and
the Board further find. that the assessment rolls filed October 13th.,1914 and the final
estimate allowed. October 13th., should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified
confi.-med and approved.
Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for water connections
on Sherman Avenue from Michigam Aveaue to Oak Street, In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above .matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were
filed. The Board further find that the property assessed in said ra11s filed October 13th.,
1914 is'benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, and the Board further
find that the assessment rolls filed October 3th.,1914 and the final estimate allowed
November 13th.,1914 should be and the same are hereby in all t ings ratified, confirmed
and approved.
Hearing had on assessment roll and final estimate for curb and walk
on south side of Fox Street from Miami Street to East line of Demler's lst. addition,
under IMp rovement Resolution No. 342. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the F.bove matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrance was
filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said rill filed October-°
20th.21914 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, and the
Board further find that the assessment- roll fled October 20th.,1914 and the final esti-
mate allowed October 20th.,1914 should be and the same is hereby in all things ratified,
confirmed and approved.
By unanimous consent of the Board the contract for the Pipe sewer on
College Street from Lincoln Way west to Vassar Avenue, was awarded to L. H. Webster for
the amount of. $12499.50
By unanimous consent of the Board the contract for the pipe sewer on
Indiana Avenue from Miami Street to Marine Street, was awardedto L. H. Webster for the

The Board ordered that the Chicagq South Bend & Northern Indiana Ry.
Company tie notified to remove pole at northwest corner of Broadway and Michigan Street.
Partial estimate allowed Stewart -Sheets Company on Bowman Creek Trunk
sewer for the amount of......................................$42432 98.
Petition presented to the Board for a light at the Corner of Chestnut
Street. The same was read and placed on file.
The City Engineer presented a report on the bill presented by the H.G.
Christman Company relative to the moving of sheds and fences and the rebuilding of same
f for the right of way of the Bowman Creeek Trunk sewer. The Board ordered that Mr. H.
G . Christman be notified to appear before the Board Tuesday November 17th..11914 at 10:00

Application for the altering and rebuilding of billboard on South Lafayette
Street corner of South Street, wars approved.
Bond and contract signed by Henry De Vos as princiapl and United States
J Fidelity & Guaranty Company of Baltimore, Md. for the construction of Trunk sewer on
High Street, from Dayton Street to Bowman Street, under Improvement Resolution No.
349. was approved by the Board.
! Bond and contract signed by H. U. Barnes as principal and London &
J Lancashire Guarantee & Accident 00. as sureties, for the construction of Brick
Pavement on Cottage Grove Avenue from Grand View Avenue to Oak Street, under Improve —
Rent resolution No. 3542 was approved by the Board.
JHearing given on roll showing awards of damages and assessments of benefits
in the matter of Vacation Resolution No. 23 adopted on the llth. day of August,
1914 for the vacation of a part of William Street from Marion Street to Navarre
Street. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
There being no benefits or damages in the above matter, there were no
remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed.
The Board therefore declare the above roll filed in all things ratified,
, confirmed and approved and the proceedings closed.
Engineer filed assessment roll and final estimate for concrete pavement on
Sunnyside Avenue from Jefferson Blvd. to 310 ft. north of said Jefferson Blvd.
Under Improvement resolution No. 355. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Resolved further that the entire work under above contract be accepted
and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed, as per waiver sig ed by Mr.
F.A. Miller and J. C. Birdsell on September lst.,i914 and on page 480 of this
record, notice of assessment by card would be sufficient notice of. hearing.
