Board met in regular session at 10:00 A.I. All members Ipresent.
City Attorney also present.
Street Commissioner made report on petition referred to of October 20th.1914
for street light at Smith and Wall Street as follows:- >
Hon. Board of Public Works.
Gentlemen:- I would recommend the installation of a Gas lamp at the corner of Smith.
and Wall St. (River Park) for reasons viz: there is no light at Smith Street at Mishawaka
Ave. neither is there a light on Smith St. at all three blocks long other streets this
close in have not this condition.

The Board ordered that a, ga-slight- be pla-ced at the above mentioned. corner.
Communication received from Mrs. Madsen remonstrating against assessment
on Opening of Calvert Street. The same was read and placed on file.
Bill received from H. G. Christman Company for the rebuilding and moving
of their buildings for the right of way of the Bowman Creek Trunk Sewer. The same was
referred to the City Engineer for investigation.
No bids received on water connections on John.Street or sewer connections
on Johnson Street or Cottage Grove Avenue, the same all having been taken out°by private
contract.
Partial estimate allowed H. N. Barnes on alley west of Main Street and
lley North of La Salle Avenue for the amount -of .............................. 97-47
The City Engineer sub mitted the estimated cost of thepipesewer
on College Street from Lincoln Way West to Vassar Avenue at.................$2,413;40

Communication .received from Ed. C . Witwer, a .copy,.of which was
addressed to Mr. Wm. S. Moore City Engineer, remonstrating against his bssessments of
J benefits on Opening of Calvert Street. The same i,ras read and placed on file.,
inspector reported on the billboard on edge of dump on Vistula Avenue

Board ordered thatJosepi Krill be notified that.the.'City would not need
his land for the dumping of night soil after November lst.,1914.

Board met in regular session at 7:45 P.M. All members present.
Petition filed with the Board for an Electric light at the west.corner'
of Osborn Street. The same was read and referred to the Street Commissioner for
investigation.
Bond and contract for the: construction of a pipe sewer on Eddy,Par.ry,
1 Francis and Division Street, under IIAprovemeht Resolution No. 356, signed by Hoban -
& -Roach as principal and London & Lancashire Guarante-e & Accident Company as
sureties was approved by the Board.
Partial estimate allowed Stewart -Sheets Company for Trunk sewer on
jBowman Creek for the amount of.......................................,p1,225.10
Engineer tiled assessment roll and final estimate for Pipe sewer on
Broadway Street from Bowman Creek Trunk sewer to Carroll Street, under IMprovement
Resolution No. 320. In the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published on
the 29th,, day of October,1914 �abd on the 5th. day of November,1914 in the South
Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of
such assessments at its office innthe City Hall on the 17th., day of November,1914
at 7;45 P.M.
Resolved :further, that the entire work under_ the above contracts be
accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Notice of this
resolution -shall be published_ on" the, 29th., day of October 1914 and on the 5th.:.
day of November91914 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will
give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the
17th. , day of_ November,1914_ at 7.145 P.M.

Begin at the south east corner of lot three (3) Stover and Witwer Add,
to the Town of Myler now a part of the City of South Bend, Indiana. Thence west to
the southwest corner of lot eleven (11) in said Stover and Witwer Addition; thence
south fourteen (14) feet to the northwest corner of lot four (4) in said Addition
thence north fourteen (14) feet to the south east corner of lot three (3) in said
Stover and Witwer Addition which point is the place of beginning.
THE FOLLOWING PROPERTY MAY BE INJURIOUSLY OR BENEFICIALLY

The Board has ordered that noi:ices of such awards of damages and
assessments of benefits (if any) be served according to law, and that a hearing be
given on the same on the 24ths day of November,1914 at 7:45 P.M. at the office of
the Board in the City Hall for 'tne purpose of hearing or receiving objections of ,
any person -or persons interested in said matter.
