Cottage Grove AverYue from Portage Avenue to Michigan Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 345. and were referred to the City Civil Engineer$ for tabulation to be reported on at 7:45 P.M. this 15th., dayof Sept., 1914. J Bids were received and opened for resirfacing of Marion Street from W. line of St. Joseph Street to East line, of lot 5 Hammond and Whitcomb Addition, under improvement Resolution No. 338, and the same were referred to the City Engineer for tabulation to be reported on at 7:45 P.M. this 15th., day of September,1914. In regard to c-omplaint of defective walk at Northwest corner of Cushing ' . j Street and La Salle Avenue, the street Commissioner reported same not in a dangerous condition and that all immediate action be deferred. The Board approved of his report.. The City Civil Engineer filed with the Board the estimated cost of the J pavement of Cottage Grove Avenue from Oak Street to Grand View Avenue Cat ...$3,050.00 A partial estimate was allowed Matthias Feser on Contract, for sidewalks on Various Streets in the City of South Bend, Ind. for the amount of ........ $72.90 The Board at the request of the President of the Board of Public Safety, ordered the Central Union Telephone Compa ny to remove:. telephone No. 748=from the Chief of Police office into the Captain of Police office, and to place two -two way extensions, one in the, office of the Chief of Detectives and on ein the office of the Chief, also push buttons. The South Bend Hone Telephone Company to be notified to remove- telephone No. 1501 fro m the Chief of Police office into the Captain of Police office, and a two way extension placed in the Chief of Police and Detectives -offices off of said phone with push. buttons, Telephone No. 6146 now located in the office of the Captain of Police to be discontinued after October lst.,1914 The Central Union Tel. Company was ordered notified to transfer Telephone J tiow located in the Captain of Police residence to the resident3e of the Chief of Police Milliard F.Kerr at 302 E. Battell Street, Mishawaka, Indiana. The City Civil Engineer filed the estimated cost of the Trunk sewer on High Street from Dayton Street to Bowman Street at....................$3,752.10 Street Commissioner reported on complaint of defective sidewalk at 117 E. Sample Street. The Board ordered a thirty day noticesent to Dudley M. Shively J Receiver far ,the estate of the Cohen property, notifying him to have same repair or new cement walk constructed within thirty days or the same would be put in by the City under Improvement Resolution No 294. for the construction sidewalks in .various streets in the City of South Bend, Indiana. V/ Hearing given on Vacation Resolution No. 23 for the purpose of vacating a, -part of the proposed William Street. In the City of South Bend, I-idiana. In the above matter, Mr. F. E. Lambert, Attorney appeared and remon- strated(representing Mrs. Elbel)but filed no written remonstrance. The Board after due consideration decgided to defer all action until Friday September 19th.,1914. at 7:45 P.M. Hearing had on improvement resolution No. 346 for the Grading of Dubail /Avenue from High Street to Dale Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 346. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Upon said 'nearing no remonstrators appeared and no: remonstrances were filed. And the Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the ebenefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvements are equal to the estimated cost of the same,, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Resolved further, that notices be published on the 16th. day of September, 1914 and on the 3rd., day of September,1914 in a. newspaper of general circulation in said City, tating that this Board will receive bids for the constructinnof sadd improvements un to 10:00 A.M. on the 6th., df October 191d. The Board reserves the right to re„ect any and all bids. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter a number property owners appeared but no remon- strance was filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said roll: filed August llth., 1914 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, -and the Board further find that the assessment roll filed August llth., 1914 and the final estimated allowed August llth., 1914 , should,be and the same are hereby in all things confirmed., ratified and approved. Pending before the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, I At the final hearing on the assessments for the above mentioned im- provements, there appears before to Board the Navarre Place Corporation, by 11. A. Dolph, its President, Alonzo J. Hammond, its Secretary, and Will G. Crabill, its Treasurer, and also appears Solon D. Rider, -said corporato n and said Rider being the owners of lots abutting on Parkovash Street, end tner streets running east from Iroquois Street but not abutting thereon, and which will receive benefit from the construction of said sewer on Iroquois Street,'and do now request said Board and consent that said Board shall so modify it, the said assessment, as to relieve tree lots abutting thereon on the east side thereof from a portion of the assessments, made against them, and to lay such portions against other lots owned by them respectively along said other streets, as in the judgement of the Board such other lots may be benefited by the construction of said sewer. ResOlved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Coutnty J of St. Joseph, State of Indiana; That the construction of a local sewer, intended and adapted only for local use by the property holders whose property abuts thereon and not' intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from collatate,ral drains, be and the same is, hereby ordered in and along DIVISION STREET FROM\MEADE STREET TO OLIVE STRET as follows, to -wit. Beginning at the center of Meade Street and Division Street; thence east along t e center of Division Street to the center of Olive Street with a 20 inch vitrified pipe sewer. Together with the necessary manholes, inlets, conduits and house connections to the curb line along the line of said improvement. Resolved by the Board of Pu! is ?forks of the City of South Bend, county of VSt. Joseph, State of Indiana, That the construction of a local sewer, intended and adaptedonly for local use by the property holders whose property abuts thereon, and not intended or adapted for receiving sewerage from collateral drains, be and the same is, here by ordered in and along Grant Street from Huron Street to Division Street as follows, to -wit: - Beginning, at the center of Huron Street and Grant Street i:,ence north along the center of Grant Street to the center of Division Street with an lg inch vitrified pipe sewer. Together with the necessary manholes, inlets, conduits and house connections to the curb line along the line of said improvement. And such improvement is now ordered. NOTE: - Nineteenth Street in City of in the City of Mishawaka, Indiana, and is South Bend, Ind. is known as Logan Street the dividing line betwee--i the two Cities. And said sewer, withall its appurtenances shall be consructed in accordance with the profile and specifications now on file in tiie office of the Department of Public Works of said City.
