JBids were received ,opened and read for pipe sewer on Indiana Avenue from Carroll Street to Miami Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 326.. The samewere referred to the City Civil Engineer for tabulation to be reported at 7:45 P.M. this llth., day of August,1914. / Partial estimate allowed Matthias Feser Contractor for Grade, curb and n/ walk on Lincoln Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 291 for.........$235.95 / Partial estimate allowed Louis Zieger, Contractor for work on Tenth Street, Junder Improvement Resolution No. 2E7, for..............................:...$1,0'70.00 Bond and contract for pipe sewer on Indiana Avenue from Leer Street; to ' / Marine Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 325, signed by Staples and Ackerman J as principal and American Surety Company of New York as sureties was approved by the Board. Bond and contract for pipe sewer on Terrace and Blaine Avenue .from Woodward ,/ Ave. to Vassar Avenue under Improvemaent Resolution No. 32?, signed by Staples and Ackerman as principal and American Surety Company of New York as sureties, was approved by the Board. City Attorney E. Seebirt, submitted a letter addressed to him from the Chicago, Lake Shore and .South Bend Ry. Company in regard to rebate on La Salle Avenue pavement. The same was read and refrred to the City Civil Engineer for in— vestigation. Communication received from City Attorney E. Seebirt in regard to new ✓ form of construction bonds. The same was read and placed on rile. Communication received from The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York giving Inspectors report of the furnaces in the City Hall. The same was read and placed on file. Petition presented to the Board for the opening of South Shapin Street ✓ from Prairie Avenue to Leon Court. TAe same was read and placed on rile. / Petition for a pipe sewer on Milton Avenue from Miami Street to Bowman ✓ Creek Trunk sewer wi= s presented to the Board. The same was read and referred to the City Engineer for a resolution. Petition presented to the Board for a pipe sewer on Virgina Street from /Indiana Avenue to Broadway Street. The same was read and-eefrred to the City Civil Engineer for investigation. Communication received from Mr. H. S. Cover in regard to the widening of W. Chippewa Avenue from Michigan Street to the City limits. The same was read wand referred to the City Civil Engineer for investigation. Permission was granted the Central Union Telephone Company to set poles as follows:— To set two (2) thirty (30) foot poles on south side of the alley between Walsh Street: and City ,Limits:._ Also to set two (2) thirty (30) foot poles on south side of Napoleon Street between Hill and Lawrence Streets. }n regard to the setting of two (2) thillty (30) foot poles on south side of Luther Court, between Notre Dame and St. Francis Streets, the same was ,,placed on file. Communication received from the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company ✓in regard to the number of arc lamps outside of the underground district. The same was read and placed on file. Communication addressed to E. M. Morris President of the Board /from The Indiana & Michigan Electric Company in regard to the heating contract, was read and filed. 44, Street Commissioner reported that defective corssing of Grand Trunk Western Ry. Company and Ford Street was being repaired.. The same was placed -on file. Street Commissioner reported on defective walk at 209 E. Keasey Street. ✓Board ordered a notice sent to property owner to repair same. Street Commissioner reported on defective sidewalk and curb on South fain Street about 15 ft long on east side just north of Perley Street. Board ordered a notice sent. Communication received from, Weidler,Parker & Pettingill7Attorneys for Joseph Szweda in re:rard to the repairing of curb and sidewalk on Olive Street The same was read and' placed on file. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. Board after having said matter under advisement decided to defer all action on the above roll until Tuesday August 18th.,1914 at 7:4--5 P,M,r Hearing given on assessment roll and final estimate for curb and walk on Orange Street from Sadie Street to Olive Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 315. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Ira the above matter a remonstrator appeared but no remonstrance was filed. The Board after having said matter under advisement decided to defer all action on the above roll until Tuesday August l8th.,1914 at 10:00 A.M. Hearing given on assessment roll ans final estimate for curb and walk on Meade Street Washington Avenue to Bertrand Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 303. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said roll filed July 1421914 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, and the Board fur- ther find that the assessment roll filed July 14th.,1914 and the final estimate allowe July 14th.,, 1914 should be and the same is hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Nearing on assessment roll and final estimate for pipe sewer on Tecumseh Avenue from Parkovash Avenue to Pokagon Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 312. in the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no Tremoristrators appeared and no remonstrance was filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said roll filed July 21st.,1914 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, and the Board further °-Find that the assessment roll filed July 21st.,1914 and the final estimate allowed July 21st.,1914 should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and aproved. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter n.o'remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The 'Board therefore find that the property assessed in said roll filed July 21st. 1914 is benefitted in the amount of assessments as shown on said rolls, and the Board fur- ther find that the assessment roll filed July F1st.,1914 and the final estimate allowed July 21st.,1914 should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Contractors bond for the sum of One Thousand ($1,000.00)Dollars signed by Anton Ku jawski as principal and Martin Kaniewski as surety was approved by the Board. Remonstrance was received, read and placed on file against pavement on ✓Allen Street between Oak Street and Van Buren Street. Petition received and read for pipe sewer on Fellows Street from Dubail Avenue to First alley North. The same was referred to the City Civil Engineer for a resolution. Contract for the pipe sewer on Indiana Avenue from Carroll Street to Miami Street, was awarded to L. H. Webster for the sum of .....................$6,095.52 Communication received from the Common Council in regard tothe C.I.& S. R. R. Co. be ordered by the Board to bring their tracks to grade at Florence and ,/Longley Avenue. The same was read and referred to the City Civil Engineer for investi- gation. Permission granted the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company to set poles as follows: - To replace pole #4413-4415-4416-4419 in the alley west of Walnut St. ,/just north of Jefferson St. with taller poles to clear the fire alram and telephone wires. Engineer filed assessment roll anf final estimate for pipe sewer on ✓Talbot Avenue from South Bend Avenue to Howard Street, under Improvmment Resolution No. 319.` In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Resolved, that notices as to 2t4hteamounts of assessments be published on the 1:7th.; day of August?1J'14 and on the h, day of August21914 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assess- ments at its office in the City Hall on the £nth. , day of Septembe r,1914 at 7: 45 P.M. In the City of South Bend, Indiana Resolved, that notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Tribune commencing on the 17th., day of August,1914 stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assessments at its office in the City Hall on the £nth., day of September,l914 at 7:45 P.M. Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contract be ac- cepted and approved and the final estimate 'thereon allowed. Notice of this resolu- tion shall be published on the 17th., day of August,1914 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will give a hearing on the acceptance of such work at its office in the City Hall on the Sth., day of September,1914. Resolved, treat notices as to the amounts of assessments be published for six consecutive days in the South Bend Daily Tribune, commencing on the 24th. day of Au gust,l914 stating that this Board will give a hearing on the amount of such assess ents at its office in the City Hall on the 15th., day of September,1914 at 7:45 P.M. Resolved further, that the entire work under the above contract be accepted and approved and the final estimate thereon allowed. Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That tt is desirable to vacate the following Beginning on the north line of Marion Street at a point 35.3 Feet west of the south east corner of. lot 57 Henricks and Grantts Addition and the east line of Lot 7 Burrough's Sib —Division of Bank Out 115 to the north line of said lot 7 South line of short Navarre Street) thence west 10.7 feet; thence south parallel with and 49 feet west of the east line of lot 7 said Burroughts Sub —Division and.lot 57 said Henrickts & Grantts Addition to the north line of Marion Street; thence east 10+.7 feet to the place of beginning. . The above described parcel of land is a strip 1Q.7 feet wide east and west and extends -from Marion Street to Navarre Street and is owned by Mary Elbel and Frank H. & Edith H. Stuckey.
