On otion of �ir. Gadacz, seconded by P4r. Lon�; , a resi�nation of
Cap ain L. F. Blakeman, tivho is retirin� on pension, �aas approved
and ordered made e�'fective December l, 1�30.

pwr hase of a ne�v Ambulance for �3600.00, ineludina the tra�e-in
of ld ambulance.
The purchase was made from �cherc�an-Schaus ?:�otor Company after
rec iving bids from them and from the �ayers-Scovill Company,
Cin innati, Ohio , cvhose bid was ;�3450.Od but the Roard decided
to ive the local Company the contract for the reason that
Say rs-Scovill Company' s bid did not comply r�ith t�e Board ' s
spe ifications. The follo�vin� is a cop,y of the contract:

upo the terms and conditions herein set forth a complete
aut mobile ambulance in acco:�dance with the specifi.cations on
fil vrith the Department of Public Safet,y of said city.
� Del'very to be made at South Bend, Indiana on or before the •
20t dav of �ecember, 1930.
Tha the partv of the first part �,varrants a11 apparatus to be
fre from defects in material and vaorkmanship.
Tha thP party of the second part agrees to purchase and pay f or

FIii' _' DOLLI�I�S ( �3750.00) , in eash upori delivery and accepta��ce
the eof.
Tha the parties hereto a�ree to promptly test said ambulance
upo its delivery and upon the dvritten acceptance of said
amb lance by the part,y of the second part throu,;h its Board of
Pub ic :;afety the above purchase price is to be �aid.
Thi contract is subject to the approval of the Common Council
of the City o� South Bend, Indiana.
