Fire Department: The resignation of Captain J. Scott of Truck 3 of the Fire Department was presented and on motion of Tr. Reeder the resi_;nation was accepted with sincere regret and approbation. The motion was seconded by Dr. Johnston. Resignation effective February 19, 1929. Captain Scott to go on pension after 25 years service. 1!'otion prevailed that following resolution be passed and made a part of the minutes. Copy of said resolution to be sent to family of Lieut. 1.7illiam Hieman of No. 10 station: - Resolution "MREAS: Almighty God in his Divine providence has seen fit to remove from Civil Service William Heimann, member of the South Bend Fire Department for the past 36 ,years. BE IT THF,REFORE RESOLVED; That the Board of Public Safety at its regular convened meeting of February 18th, 1929 express their sincere condolence to the bereaved family. RESOLVED FURTHER: that as a particular mark of respect to the memory of the deceased, and in recognition of his public service, this resolution be made a part of the permanent record of the Board of Public Safety.
