Engel drum , t' s onday'January 9th., 1928. �n Mr. Reeder was not present Mayor Montgomery and City Attorney Romig were present. Minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved. George Rulison' Dept..U.S.Prosecutor appeared before the Board in responee �. to a 'subpoena. Richard 04Hara was not present, and Chief Hatt reported that his whereaboul at the time were unknown. Mr Rulison' was sworn as a. witness by Pres. Engeldrum and was questionee by' Mayor Montgomery and City Attorney Romig. Mr.,Rulison testified that Richard O'Hara in Federal Court on December 23rd. did not mention City or County Officials, employees or Police Officers:_ or give any testimony that would reflect upon the Ci'$Y County Officials, employees, or Police Officors and that the oily mention of any -officials that was made by him was when Michael Sarous had pointed out a place to him (O'Hara in the vicinity of Lincoln Way East and.Sample 5t:,, and had remarked that " there is a place that.not even the Federal Men will touch Rulison Wfurther testified that Richara. MHars. in Fellers 1.r urt -told that on one o:;casion Michael Sarous asked him for money "to some attorney for protection but O'Hara could not name the �rney, but that there was no mention made of. any City or County officials.* °" his conversation between OSHara. and Sarous according to Mr. Rulisons best recollection heal taken place at an inn,East or North East of the City. Fire Dept. bills were approved and ordered.paid. Moton prevailed that the applications of John Leo Luzny, and Elmer K. Rasinski be approved and ordered placed on file. ELECTRICAL DEPT. Electrical dept. were approved and ordered paid. Motion prevailed that the weekly.report of Supt. O,ualls for the week end- ing Jan. 8the be approved and ordered palced on fiel. Motion prevailed that the appointment of Carl Shaffer by Supt. Qualls on Jan. lst.,.1928 be ratified as of Jan lst., 1928. Motion prevailed that according to, the Budget passed by the City Council for the year 1928:rthe salary of line foreman be :"p2,160. per year; the lineman 2,040 peg year, a.nd-the Alarm Station Operators $1,6x0 per year. DEPT. OF WEIGHTS & %MEASURES City-Sealer Burns bills were approved and ordered paid. .- lotion prevailed that the veekl report of Ci'Uy Sealer Burns for the week ending Jan 7th. be approved and ordered placed on file. POLICE DEPT. -Police Dept. bills were approved and ordered paid. y Motion prevailed that the application of Frank J. Stark, and Andrew Papay be approved and ordered place on file.
