Regular 'mee-ting of the Board of Public ' Safety was held on Monday,
January 20, 1936 at 8:45 A. M. All members were present.
Minutes of meeting of January 13th were read and approved.
Requisitions - numbers 08827 to 08835 were approved. Claims in the
amount of 4396.28, from the following suppliers, were approved.and
ordered paid.

FIRE DEPARTMENT - Chief Freeh present.
Matters in general pertaining to the Fire Department were discussed
with the Chief and he was authorized to purchase a new siren at an
expense of approximately twenty dollars.
Application for position as fireman was received from John R.
Neitzel and ordered placed on file.
ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT Mr. Qualls present:
Mr. Qualls reported that the new traffic signals, in accordance
with instructions from the Board a short time ago, at Michigan and
Bronson Streets are now installed.
POLICE DEPARTMENT - Assistant Chief Diedrich present:
Mr. Krauss, Jeweler, of 205 forth Michigan.Street,.appeared before
- the Board and complained about parking in front-of his store.. After
fully discussing the matter with him, the Board decided to take no
action at this time.
The Secretary was instructed in the case of all Officers on the
Fire and Police Departments who on probation to bring to the
attention of the Board the expiration of the probation period one month
before expiration.
Assistant Chief Diedrich was instructed to notify Officer Leo
Berner to obtain a report from the Board of Public Safety at the time
of his appointment that it was their intention to make him a police
officer at that time, also that he shall be examined at the present
time by Dr. Pauszek, the Police Doctor. Officer Berner is to have this
in the hands of this Board not later than February lst.
Application for position on the Police Department of Arthur W.
Harris Was presented to the Board and ordered placed on file.
The meeting adjourned at 10:30 A. U.
