Regular meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held on Monday,
September 16, 1935 at 9:15 A. M. All members were present.
Minutes of meeting of September 9th were read and approved.
Requisitions bearin numbers 08630 to 08636, inclusive, were approved.
Claims in the amount of 696.21, from the following suppliers, were approved
and ordered paid.

POLICE DEPARTMENT - Chief Lane present:
As ordered at preceding meeting of Board, the following Police
Officers were interviewed with reference to accidents to police cars
experienced recently: Officers Kubiak and Ellis, who in.the operation of
car #5 caused damage to the front axle and gasoline tank to the extent of
approximately $8.80; Officers Tholander and Rzepka, who operating car #3
damaged the front door and glass to the extent of approximately 48.00 and
Frank Ferger, who brought in borrowed car #11 with rear end and trans-
mission torn out making a total expense -of $14.58. These Officers were
questioned carefully regarding their accidents and were informed that while
no charge would be made against them for this extra expense at this time
that the Board expected them to use police cars as they would their own,
driving carefully and eliminating all unnecessary expense and using care.

The question of gambling was again discussed with the Chief. Several
gambling devices were discussed and the Chief was instructed to bring in
a certain type of pin machine, if found operating, on which there is a`jacl
pot or pay -off, as a test case.
The Chief advised that he had not found the opportunity to call in
Louis Curl of the Lincoln Hotel but would do so at an early date.
Continuation certificate 'of Fred H. Miller in the Employers Liability
Assurance Corporation was approved by the Board.
Mr. F. 0. Schoeppel, Principal of the Washington School, called
attention of the Board to parking of cars on West Sample Street at the!
end of the street car line, stating when the car is standing at the end
of the line and cars are parked at the curb it congests traffic severei/y,

Police applications were filed by the following: Gorth Love and
Marion F. Symanowski.
Mr. Andrew Weisburg, Manager of the Oliver Hotel, appeared before the
Board and requested restricted parking on the Washington Street side of
the Oliver Hotel for one additional car. The Board advised Mr. Weisburg
they would take this matter under consideration.
FIRE DEPARTMENT - Chief Freel present:
Matters regarding the Fire Department were discussed but nothing of
importance being brought up no action was t
ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT - Mr. Qualls present:

reference to traffic conditions were discussed and Mr. Quails was
