The minutes of meeting of April 29th were read and approved.
Requisitions bearing numbers 08465 to 08472 were approved.
Claims in the amount of 1248.73.from the following suppliers were
approved.

Fire Dept,Chief Freeh present.
hatters pertaining to his department were discussed.The chief again
brought up the question of the need of a new pumping engine for hose
house No 3 and it was moved,seeonded and carried that the city attorney
request the council at its meetings of the wholeto autha7rize the
introduction of an ordinance appropriating a sufficient sum as an
emergency measure to purchase a 1000 Gal pumper.
Applications for Fire department were received from Cecil D.Fitch and
Lewlyn D.Swintz and were -placed on file.
Electrical Dept 1.1r �,ualls present.
Ivir Qualls submitted the fire alarm report for the nnonth of April together
with a comparative statement covering the last ten years..This report is
on file in the office of the Board of Public Safety.
Dog Pound Dept
Mines V�ood placed before the Board his report showing animals impounded
destroyed and cash receipts for the last six weekswhich is on file in
the office of the Board of Public Safety.
i'olice Dept Chief Lane Present.
Two applications for the police deyoartmen.t nar.lely dward G.Radecki and
Billy'Cholosi.nski were interviewed in the presence of the chief and their
appointment to the -force was taken under advisement.
The Chief brought up the Question of two or three police officers
to Indianapolis on Iday 13 to 16th inclusive to attend the Indiana training
school under the direction of Purdue 1.;Iriversity and the Bureau of
Govertmental Research of the In.dianaaolis Chamber of Co_nerce.After a
discussion of the matter it was deemed advisable to request the cor.r.on
council by motion properly seconed and carried for a transfer of funds to
meet this expense.In this connection it was also decided to request the
Council for a transfer of funds to allow the-chief of Police to attend the
International Convention of chiefs of police this fall.'J'he city attorney
was instructed to present the matter to the council.
It was rzoved and seconded and carried that the city attorneypetition

)r Pauszek appeared before the Board to bbtain a more definite idea of
.is res,,onsibilities as police suregeon.The Board authorized him to
resent his claim for services where such service was in excess of first
nd last calls as ;utlined in the city Ordinance.It was also decided that
ny officer or fireman shall have the privilege of calling his own
hysician or surgeon %in emergency cases.
It was decided in the case of the Cities Service Co whose claim
as been presented for gasoline furnished in 1930 and which was never
onored by previous boards and which was found by thorough investigation
o be legitimate claim and that there 'Was'sufficient appropriation in the
udget at the time it was received,that the secretary inform the Cities
ervice Co that proper appropriation will be :Wade in the 1936 budget for
ayment of this claim in 1936.
Applications to the Police Dept were filed by Albert Pope colored
nd 'Roland n.Penrod.
Official Bond of Bryan J. Roe was approved and - placed on file,
meeting ajourned at 10.30 A.1,1.
