Anderson was absent. Minutes of the meeting of January 28th were read and approved. E. 111eyer & Son 27.13 A communnieation from the Tiayor was read suggesting the ad- visability of naming a Purchasing Agent for the City, in order that proper bids maybe obtained and classified on all materials purchased by the city, and to ascertain that the city has actually received all materials for which it is billed. The matter was referred to the City Attorney for investigation to detebmine under what procedure under the law this suggestion can be carried out. Fire Department, Chief Freeh present Matters pertaining to his department were discussed. The Chief brought up the matter of changing and rearranging Fire Alarm boxes to improve the signal system, which was taken up with Mr. Qualls later in the sleeting. The following applications for the fire Department were ordered placed on file Vincent L. Kwiecinski M . ,1. Ford John F. Dembinski Donald F. Clements Electrical Department, Mr. Qualls present Hatters pertaining to his department were discussed. The Board took up the matter of changing and rearranging fire alarm boxes as suggested by the Fire Chief, and authorized 1-1r. Qualls to proceed with such changes. Pauline Wolf, manager of the La Fong Kennels appeardd before the Board with a proposition to take over the Dog Pound for a considerO ation of $4000.00 annually. The matter was referred to the Secretary to ascertain if any saving could be made over our present arrangement, and to report at the next meeting. Police Department, Chief Lgne present. Matters pertaining to his department were discussed and the Chief informed the Board of the progress that is being made in the strike at the Oliver Farm Equipment Co. plant. The following men were deputized to perform special police work at the Oliver plant and approved by the Board. Roy Kauffman Bob Kiser. Daly of 11uncie, Ind. was read recommending H. D. Claudy, former Deputy Warden at T.Tichigan City. No action was taken and the letter ordered placed on file. Official Bonds of Homer Ames and Bert Olmstead were approved and ordered placed on file. A request from C. I.I. SylvanuN Co. for loading zone to be established•in front of their building at 125 W. Washington St. was read and the matter was referred to the Police Department.. Continuation Cer-Lifi*cate.on the bond of,Louis -,',,ish was approv- ed by the Board and placed on file. The Bond of Kenneth Logan., who is taking leave of absence and is now employed by the State was released to the 'I'laryland Casualty Co. by action of the Board. The parking matter -,,resented by Mr. Schricker some time ago �V and referred to Chief Lane was reported.by him as having been satis- factorily disposed of. The meeting adjourned at 9:45 A.TM.
