Petition for pipe sewer on Dayton Street from Witwer Avenue to intersection of Bomwan Creek sewer at High Street and from High `Street to Allet West of Miami St. The same was read and referred to- the City Engineer. Permission granted the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company to set the following poles. To set a guy stub and anchor on the north side of the first alley south of Mary Avenue, just west of Grant Street, this is at the rear of 2102 Mary Avenue, and is ' to be used in guying pole on the east side of Grant Street. Bond or Contractor for .One Thousand ($1,000.00)Dollars si.gned :by Hugh Anderson as principal, and United States Fidelity & Guaranty Co. of Baltimore,Md. as \/ surety, was approved by the Board. Bond of contractor for One Thousand ($1,000.00)Dollars., signed by Philip d Robarge as principal and United States Fidelity & Guaranty Co. of Baltimore, Md. as sureties, was approved by the Board. Bids for water and sewer connections on Ford Street from Arnold Street to I. I . &I. My. Right of way, under Improvement Re sOlut ion No. 295, was opened,.:.. read and refer- red to to the City Engineer for tabulation. - Bids for water and sewer connections on St. Louis Street Boulevard from South Bend Avenue to Corby Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 299. was opened,rea.d and referred to the City Engineer for tabulation. Petition for sidewalk and curb on Catalpa Avenue from W. Sample Street to W. Garst Street, was filed with the Board ,read and referred to the City Civil Engineer f6r investigation. City Civil Engineer filed a report as follows: - Referring to petition of Dr. J. W. Hill and others for the improvement of the Dirst Alley West of Main Street from Marion Street to Navarre Street, I would recommend that the petition be granted. Very Respectfully, WM.S.MOORE City Civil Engineer. The cost of the alley intersections will amount to about $50.00 The Board instructed the Clerk to prepare a resolution on the aforesaid petition$ and set fo hearing. � President. 296 Tuedday March 31st.,1914. Board met in regular session at 7:45 P.M. All members present. J Mr. Wilcoxen General Manager of the Chicago, Lake Shore and. South Bend Railway Company, was present before the Board and submitted a blue print. of the - proposed tracks on East La Salle Avenue at their barn. The Board took this matter under consideration. The City Civil Engineer reported favorably on the Petition fpr a sewer on Campau St. from Walsh Street -to First alley east, and the Clerk was instructed to prepare a resolution on the same and set for a hearing. The City Civil_ Engineer reported favorably on the petition for the open- e� ing of Francis Street from the First alley north of Miner Street to Sorin Street, and the Clerk was . instructed by, the. Board to prepare a resolution on the same and set fo-r a hearing. Bondfor excavation in streets for the amount of One Thousand ($1,000600) l Dollars signed by Alonzo J.-McKinley as principal and The Southern Surety Company of St. Louis, Mo. as sureties, was approved by the Board. The following communication with blue print . was :addressed to 'WK. S.Moere City Engineer an Ile -submitted same to- the Board with his_ recommendation. We desire to change our side track which enters the west end of our ✓ building,(located at Sample & Main Streets) from the main line of the Vandalic,. En- closed please rind plan drawn up by the Vandalia enginerr showing the propo ed change. We have agreed to move our fence and barn and wood -shed far enough east so as to leave the necessary clearance between the side track and the buildings as required by law. If you will kindly let us know what preeedure will be necessary to have the japproval of your office or the Board of Public Works, we will be glad to follow any line of petition or appear in person before the Beard, as may be desired. The same was read and, referred to the City Civil Engineer for investigation. Petition filed with the Board for 15 minute service on the St. Mary's car line between Street Car station and St. Marys. The Clerk was instructed to J notify Mr. C. D. Emmons of the Chicago,, South Bend & Northern Indiana Ry. Company to be present Tuesday April 7th.,1914 at 10:00 A.M. in regard to said petition. Street Commissioner D. C. Layton, reported favorably on the Petition . for the placing of a light at the intersection of and Meade Streets. The Board ordered a light placed at this point. Contract the water connection of Ford Street under Improvement Resolu- tion No. 299 was awarded t6L McGrath & Luther-, for the amount of ........ $404.00 Contract for the water connection on St. Louis Street Boulevard under improvement Resolution No. 294, was awarded to McGrath & Luther,for..$155.00 Contract for. the sewer connections on Ford Street,under improvement resolution No. 299, was awarded to Henry De Vos, for the amount of ....... $ 9.70 City,Engineer reported favorably on the petition for a pipe sewer on.
