HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/24/1934 Board of Public Safety MinutesREGULAR IVIEETING The regular weekly meeting of'the Board of Public Safety was held on Saturday, February 24, 1934, at 2:00 P. ITT. with all members present. President Valentine T. Gadacz presided. The Board approved bills, totaling $347.10, which bear the following requisition numbers: 09182 06944 07080 07085 06872 07068 07063 09201 0691 07062 07046 07058 09199 06920 07055 07044 07079 07086 07084 07077 07078 FIRE DEPARTMENT: Fire Chief, Roy A. Knoblock, was present and the activities of his department were discussed. POLICE DEPARTIYIENT: The Board heard the testimony of Dr, Robert Hoffman and the Officers Poureand Vitou with reference to the case of Officer John Howard regarding Dr. Hoffman's dog. Moved by Mr. Trost, seconded by Mr. McSorley and unanimously carried that Officer Howard be and is hereby vindicated and charge against him stricken from the record,, Chief of Police, Horace M. Hamilton, was present and reported the -activities of his department. The Board discussed the enforcement of ordinance #3032 dealing with the licensing of itinerant peddlers. Mr, Paul Heiermann a representa- tive of the Retail Grocerst Association was interviewed by the Board and he pledged the cooperation of his association in enforcing this ordinance. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT: Superintendent, Wm. F. Qualls, was present and reported the activities of his department. WEIGIETS & IVIEASURES: - - report of City Sealer, Charles J.''Burns, was read, approved and ordered placed on file. The Clerk was instructed to get in touch with Mr. Burns and instruct him to aid in checking up on the peddlers doing business without a license.
