Crabill in regard to Grand Trunk Western Railway Company removing stone piers and surplus fill made during the construction of its bridge, between St. Louis Street and the river. The same was read and placed on file. Permission granted to the Indiana & Michigan Electric Company to set poles as follows: - To set 2-35' poles on the south side of Quimby Street. first pole to be about '110' east of Francis, and the other about 220t east of I+rancis,for the new are lamp: recently ordered in. Jointly with the Home Telephone Company. Also to set 1-35' pole on the south side of -Perkins St., at the southeast corner of the alley west of Pine St., Approved that -they place one guy slug at the pole where the lamp will hang. One pole between 1004 & 1006 Quimby Street One pole between 1012 & 1014 Quimby Street. City Engineer reported on petition for grade on Portage Avenue,5 and recommended that the Board investigate same soon. RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS. No. 2 9 % On motion duly made and seconded, the following preamble -and re -solutions - were unanimously adopted: - WHEREAS. This Board of Park Commissioners" did on the 21-st. , day of November 1913 deem it expedient and of public utility to permanently improve St. Louis Street Boulevard between South Bend Avenue and Corby Street by paving the roadway of the same, and did on said date pass and adopt a resolution authorizing said permanent improvement and, WAEREAS. The City Engineer has prepared and Filed with this Board a report showing the number and location, as well as_ the material to be used and the manner of laying the same, of the service pipes, mains, conduits, laterals and connections which are, or will be necessary to accommodate hhe abutting property owners with gas, water,heat steam or any other product for wl ich airy person,firm or corporation has been granted a franchise for supplying the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, which report is as follows: - REPORT REFERRED TO SEDWING. And Be it further Resolved, that it is contemplated by this Board to improve St.. Louis Street Boulevard from South Bend Ave ue to Corby Street all in said City of South Bend, by sewer, water and gas connections to the curbq and that it is,, and is hereby so declared, necessary for the Northern Indiana Gas & Electric Company, which has, and operates under, a franchise from said City to supply gas to the citizens of said. City, to provide and install mains, laterals, service pipes and connections for gas in said part of said street, of the description ,location and niLtber set forth in said report of said City Engineer, which mains, service pipes and connections are hereby declared necessary fort-iei immediate use of said Company in supplying gas to the owners of property abutti ig upon said part .of said street.
