Doheny Companies has a slot available at Vactor Manufacturing for August 2018 production and the estimated delivery will be first of September 2018. The machine shall be of the single engine design to be used for removing sand, stone,s, bottles, cans, grease, sludge, and other debris from a sanitary sewer and/�or storm sewer lines by the flushing action of high pressure water. The machine shall include an air conveying vacuum system to provide for the simultaneous removal of debns flushed to the manhole by the high pressure water (jet Rodder) system, or for the removal of debris from sumps, catch basins, digester, wet wells, bar screens, etc. The machine shall also include an enclosed and sealed body for storage of the collected debris, These are minimum specifications. High Pressure The following is a description of the PTO driven high �O Water Pump: pressure water pump currently used by the City of South Bend. This system has proven very effective and does meet all of our requirements for high pressure line cleaning. Any bidder wishing to bid an alternatively driven pump may do so with a detailed explanation of that system and the benefits to be received by the City of South Bend from the use of such a system. Such an alternative system may or may not be acceptable to the City. If belt drive is being bid, a lifetime full replacement warranty shall be included. The system shall include a variable flow, heavy duty, high pressure water pump that delivers a smooth, continuous pressure and flow through the entire operating range of the pump. The pump shall be capable of flows from 0-80 GPM and from 0-2500 PSI. The water pump shall be sized to allow the water system to operate with 80 GPM at 2,000 PSI continuous duty rating. Capable of 1" ID and 3/4" TD jet hose use. The high pressure water pump will be designed so no damage will occur if run at normal operating pressure Ver. 2 — March 2018 without water for 10 minutes. A certification by the original water pump manufacturer to operate in such a manner shall be provided. The water pump shall be capable of maximum water pressure and flow while achieving maximum vacuum pressure. The water pump shall operate independent of vacuum system. Pump flow must be capable of being turned off at maximum operating RPM and PSI without doing harm to components. A heat exchanger will be provided in the water system to cool all hydraulic fluids on the unit, if required. A monitor light shall be provided to indicate when designed flow or pressure is exceeded. Variable flow valve to adjust water flow without changing engine RPM to be included. The water system shall be designed to enable the operator to turn water flow on/off at maximum psi and rpm without doing harm to components. Cold Weather The system shall incorporate both a cold weather mBqo Protection: recirculation system and an air purge system. Low point drains shall be included throughout the water system for complete cold weather draining. Rotation Hose The hose reel assembly shall be state of the art design. YES 0 Reel: 71 The hose reel shall be mounted to assure adequate ground clearance. The hose reel capacity shall have a minimum 800' capacity of 1" I.D. sewer hose (2500 psi operating pressure; 7500 psi burst pressure). A 20' leader hose shall be supplied. The hose reel shall be on the front of the truck along the center line axis of the truck with the reel in its fixed position. Ver. 2 — March 2018 The hose reel and control panel shall articulate a minimum of 180 degrees allowing the operator to work in any position through the arc. Articulation shall be hydraulically powered and lock into operating position. Articulation hinge shall be located on the curb side of the truck. A manufacturer's certified document showing hose reel area coverage shall be provided with bid packet. The mounting of the hose reel shall not interfere when the engine hood has to be opened for service/maintenance. Hose reels that interfere, must be able to be moved out of the way by means of an auxiliary power system, in case of engine/hydraulic problems, A heavy duty AUTOMATIC hose level wind guide will assist the operator in placing the hose evenly on the reel. The reel shall have a digital footage counter and a backup manual footage counter. The hose reel shall be hydraulically powered in both directions. It must have a full complement of controls for operating the hydraulic motor incorporating a flow device to regulate the rotational speed in both directions. Manufacturer shall supply all additional equipment required to make the hose wind properly on the reel, including hose tensioning devises, if required.
