SPEC R - ONE (1) OR MORE 2018 OR NEWER COMBINATION JET RODDERNAC MACHINE WITH CAB & CHASSIS It is the intent of these specifications to describe a new tandem axle Combination Jet RodderNacuum Machine. The machine shall be of the single engine design to be used for removing sand, stones, bottles, cans, grease, sludge, and other debris from a sanitary sewer and/or storm sewer lines by the flushing action of high pressure water. The machine shall include an air conveying vacuum system to provide for the simultaneous removal of debris flushed to the manhole by the high pressure water (jet Rodder) system, or for the removal of debris from sumps, catch basins, digester, wet wells, bar screens, etc. The machine shall also include an enclosed and sealed body for storage of the collected debris. These are minimum specifications. Any variation from these specifications must be spelled out on a separate exception list in order for the bid to be valid. Any items not listed on the exception sheet will be assumed to be part of the unit. Unit to be bid with and without trade- in. Proprietary products or specific manufacturers may be referenced herein. Such references are only made to demonstrate minimum scope, quality, and style of the equipment desired. The body shall have a full size rear door that is hinged at the top and equipped with a replaceable neoprene type seal to prevent leakage. Rear door to be hydraulically operated up to a minimum 90 degrees and down and shall include a safety prop. Hydraulic locks to be provided. The rear door shall be equipped with a body drain hose which allows operator to drain off excess liquids while retaining solids. Debris body shall be dumped by raising the body to a 50 degree angle utilizing a forward mounted, double acting hydraulic telescoping hoist minimum. Unit to include safety prop. A system of high pressure spray nozzles shall be installed to completely flush the debris tank, including top, sides, bottom and rear door. The debris body shall be fixed on an independent frame, separate from the chassis frame and mounted via a 3 point mounting system to allow flexing to occur without causing frame damage. The rear tank shall have a minimum 5" diameter liquid drain with bronze gate valve which may be located on the rear door. Drain will have a minimum of 15' of lay flat hose. A decant system shall be provided that assures 80% of debris tank liquids are drained off while on the street, The rear door shall have a decant screen to aid in the decanting process. For the safety of the operator and to eliminate the possibility of the debris tank coming into contact with tree limbs and electrical power lines, under no circumstances shall the debris body elevate during the decant process. For the safety of the operator and to increase productivity, the decant process must occur at the operator's station and shall not require the operator to leave his station to relocate Ver. 2 — March 2018 or reposition the truck. Debris body shall be supplied with a bolt on spill shield that is easily removed for cleaning. Shield will be a minimum 12" on bottom half to keep debris away from the rear of the machine, including the rear bumper assembly and water tanks. Body to be painted green to match existing fleet. A manual tank body prop shall be provided. Installation of prop shall be accomplished from the side of the chassis. Units requiring the operator to position themselves under a raised body will not be accepted. An automatic stainless steel ball(s) check valve shall be installed inside the debris body to prevent over filling. When the debris tank is full, the device shall automatically stop the flow of the air to the vacuum system and prevent water and debris from entering the positive displacement vacuum pump. The unit must be able to safely dump the complete load of debris with a full tank of water. The air drawn from the debris body must pass through a filter system of adequate size to protect the vacuum system. The system must be easily cleaned and maintained from the ground level without putting the operator in harm's way. The debris tank shall have a minimum of ten year non pro- rated warranty. The controls for operating the motor have a flow control device to regulate the rotational speed of the reel in both directions.
