Mr. Christian Wenger appeared before the Board in the interest of the +� Petitioners asking; for the construction of a pavement on Pennsylvania Avenue. " 'Mr. Otis Romine appeared before the Board in the interest of the Williams f Street extention. City Engineer ordered ro submit a list of the property to be taken and report the same to the Board. The following petition received from the American Telephone and Telegraph Company and approved by the Board. The Board of Public Works of South Bend, Indiana. Gentlemen: — You will please enter this as a petition that permission be granted to the American Telephone and Telegraph Company of Indiana to relocate one of its poles bearing identifying Number 17601 and located at present on Northeast corner of alley running Northeast corner of alley running North and south between Main and Michigan Streets in City of South Bend, Indiana. Above pole is located outside of curb line on above alley and permission is asked to trench pole 5 feet east of present location and inside of curb line of alley. , Signed J.McLaughlin, Foreman for The American Telephone & Telegraph Co. Board ordered City Attorney to purchase An Act on Municipal Corporations and Cities and Towns. J A bid was received, opened and read on Grade, curb and walk on Lincoln Street from Sample Street to the Grand Trunk Western Ry.,under Improvement"Resolution 291. The same was rejected by the Board. Engineer submitted a list of petitions for street imp rovements,which had been on file in the year of 1913. The Board ordered City Engineer to investigate and report on the same. I Petition for a street light on intersection of Corby Street and Notre- DameAvenue filed with the Board on Tuesday January 13th.,1914 was reported unfavor— ably on by the Street Commissioner. The same was rejected by the Board. In the matter of advertising bids for grade, curb and walk on Dale Avenue from Dayton Street to Botm.an Street,under Improvement Resolution No. 294, re— solved that notices be published on the 17th. , day of January 1J14 and on t_ e 24th. , day of January 1914 in the South Be -ad Daily Tribune stating that this Board will re— ceive bids for the construction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. on the loth. , day of February,1914 The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. J In the matter of the readvertising of bids for the Pipe sewers on the following streets. Parkovash Avenue from Iroquois Street to Lafayette Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 259, Tonti Avenue from Iroquois Street to Lafayette Strget,und.er Improvement Resolution No. 260, Eddy Street, Parry Street and Francis Street, from -Mishawaka Avenue and'Eddy Street to the Grand Trunk Ry. Co's right of way, under Improvement Resolution No. 262. Resolved that notices be published on the 17th., day of January,1914 and on the 24th., day of January,1914 in the South Bend Daily Tribune, stating that this Board will receive bids for the construction, of said improvements up to 10:00 A.M. on the loth., day of February,1914. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids. q' 3 ..1914. Continued. City Attorney reported an extention of ti.rie on Building permit granted Max Livingston November 6th..1913, and the sane was approved. by the Board,as follows:-- EXTE SION OF BUTLDTNCT. PEOUT. Office of the Board of Public Works,, South Bend, Indiana, No. 9322. Whereas on November 6th.,1913, the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana, by its Clerk, granted permission to Max Livingston for the erection and re -modeling og a brick building of the dimensions of 66x90 at No. 315-317-319 So. Michigan Street, in said City at an estimated cost of 15000.00 for a period of sixty days. And whereas said Max Livingston has petitioned said board to extend the time of said permit for a period of ninety days more. Therefore, said permit to erect and re-modele said building is extended for another period of ninety days. And said Max Livingstou, in performing said work is granted the per- mission to use a portion of the sidewalk and street for the storing of building materials upon the following conditions: That in front of said building and next to ,:he property line, he shall safely and securely house and cover a portion of the sidewalk, eight feet with in such a manner that the use of.said sidewalk shall obe free for the passage of pedes- trians and in event that said portion of the sidewalk is so housed and covered, said Livingston shall have the further ri--At to use the remaining portion of the sidewalk, being; e 3_,;.ht feet in width, and a portion o±' the street eight feet in width in front of said. building and, next to the curb,, for the purpose of storing building materials. And if said Livingston should dal and refuse to so house and cover said sidewalk as above set forth, then lie shall have no right or permit whatever to use any por- tion of the sidewalk or street for the purpose of placing building materials thereon.
