Yeetinp was called to order by Ldr. C. A. Budd, Pnsident, at 9-10 A. Y.
Mr. Valentine. Gadacz, member,, absent.
A in the sum of $50'00 in favor of C. L. lidlhouse, was signed
and approved by the Board:
POLICE DEPARTMENT
Chief of Police, John B. Kuespert, reported the activities of his de-
partnent for the past week.
A motion was made by 1"r. Budd, -seconded by Yr. Trost, that Yr. Rex Risher
be reinstated in the Police Department, same to be effective as of this
date.
FIRE DEPARTMENT
Fire Chief, Hoy Knoblock, reported the activities of his department for
the past week.
ELECTRICAL DEPfiRT1ENT
Wm. F. Qualls . Superintendent, reported the -activities of his department
for the past week.
WEIGETS AM ]MEASURES
The weekly report of Charles J. Bums, City Sealer, was examined and
ordered placed" of ile.
The fb1lowing communic'aitibn was delivered to the Board by City Clerk,
Gladys Monroe and was ordered placed of file:
To the Common uouncil
"August 7 , 1933
Your Commit tee on Fees and Salaries to whom was
referred a le tte r of. the City Controller dated July 24 0 1933 relative
to the salary of Weights and lVleasures Inspector, begs leave to report
that from the figures quoted in that letter it would appear that the
writer of it ' was not aware that the Common Council fixed. the salary of the
Weights and M-easures Inspector at 51500.00 per annum in the last ordinance
enacted by the Council on that subject; and if the inspector is now
being paid on the bases of $150.00 per month, it is suggested that the
Council instruct the Control_ ler to take steps immediately to comply with
said ordinance.
Your Committee further states that at the time of the
adoption of said ordinance your Cormit 6n Fees and Salaries and the
entire Common Council had Ball Of tue information reLzarding the St. Joseph
County feature of the Inspector's duties and salary as well as that of
the City before it.
