were opened aid. read for the pipe sewer on Blaine Avenue, under Improvement resolu-
tion No. 292. The same were read and referred to the Cipy Engineer for tabulation.

Fer value received, we, the undersigned the Stewart -Sheets Co. who have
a contract with the City of South Bead-, Indiana, for the construction of the sewer, known
as the, Bowman Creek Trunk Sewer, hereby transfer, sell, and assign to the St. Joseph
Loan & Trust Co., of South Bead, Indiana, all amounta that may be owing to use at this
time, and at any time.,in the fu*ture for work and materials furnished and used in the
construction of the said sewer,and we hereby request the said City of South Bend,
through the proper officers thereof, to pay to :the said Trust Company all money,. and de-
liver to -it all bonds to which we shall hereafter be entitled on account of the said work,
together with certificates of estimates of the said work made by civil engineer in charge
thereof.

and Hill Street. The same was referred to the Street Commissioner for investigation.
The Board adopted the following condemnation resolution for the opening of William Street
north from Colfax Avenue.

St. Joseph County, Indiana, that it is deemed and desired" necessary to open and extend
a street between the followii.;o� places in. said City, to -,,,fit:, From the north line of
Colfax Avenue to the south li-me of Michigan. Avenue, and from the north Tine of
Marion Street across lot 57 Henricks and Grant t s Addition anal- lot 7 in Burroughs Sub.
Div.. of Bank Out Lot 115 to connect with short Navarre Street.
By the Condemnation and appropriation of sufficient lots and lands for
such opening,, specifically described as follows: to -wit: -
Begin on the north line of
Colfax Avenue at a point 5 feet east of the south west corner of bank out Lot 14,
thence north parallel with and 5 feet east of the east line of Bank Out lot 14 and 9
to the south line of LaSalle Avenue, thence east along the south line of LaSalle
Avenue 52-1/4 feet to the east line of lot 3 in Williams Millen s Sub. Division. of
Bank Out Lots 9 and 9 thence south along the east line of said lot 3 said Sub..
Division and said line produced south to the north line of Colfax Avenue, thence
west along the north line of Colfax Avenue 52-1/4 feet to the place of be ginning
Above property being owned by James A. Judie, Lorenz Lederer and Mary Ryan Estate.
Also begin on the north line of La Salle at the southwest corner of Lot
13 Chapin.t s Sub-Divi.siox of Bank Outs 1 and 2, thence north easterly along the ' wes-

The property which may be injuriously or beneficially affected in the
said City of South Bend by the openings and extensions as above described is known and
described as the ground herein proposed to be condemned and appropriated therefor and
are the lots and lands and parcels of lots lying within the following described ter-
ritory in the City of South Bead, to -wit: -
Beginning on the north line of Division
Street and the First alley west of William Street, thence north along said alley to
the north line of Washington Avenue, thence west along the noXth line of Washington
Avenue to Taylor Street, thence north along Taylor Street to LaSalle Avenue,thence
west along LaSalle Avenue to Scott Street, thence north along Scott Street to a point
150. feet south of the south lime of Michigan Avenue; thence northwesterly parallel
with and 150 feet south of the south line of said Michigan Avenue to the center of
Wilber Street, thence north along the center of Wilber Street to the center of the
Chicago,Indiaxa & Southern Ry. thence north easterly along the center line of -aid
Ry. Cots right of way to the westerly bank of the St. Joseph River, thence southerly
meandering with the westerly and southerly bank of said river to a point 66 feet west
of the west line of Lafayette Street, thence south parallel with and 66 feet west of
the west of the west line of Lafayette to the north lime of Washington Avenue, thence
west along the nortii lime of Washi:kigton Avenue to the First Alley east of William
StrEet, thence south along the center line of said alley to the north line of
Ditisiox Street, thence west along the north line of said Division Street to the
first alley west of William Street which point is the place of beginning. All
as shown by the plat of such territory now on file in the o fice of the Department

Notice of this resolutioil, shall be published on the 8th.7 day of
December and on the 15th.,) day of December 1913 in the South Bend Daily News— Times.
This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 2nd. day of January
1914 at 7:45 P.M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons interested in or
affected. by these proceedings.
