REGULAR MEETING
FEBRUARY 20,19 33.
Regular meeting held by the Board of Public Safety. Monday,
February 20, 1933.
Meeting called to order by -Mr. C. A..Budd at 9 :15 A.M.

POLICE DEPARTMENT
Special police commissions were granted to Emery W. Coverdale,
Harry E. million and Bert Froste.
The Board approved special police bond of Bert Froste with
the Employers Liability Assurance Company, Ltd.
The Board ordered bus loading zone on the West side of St. Jos.,
St., from Jefferson Blvd., South to the first driveway.
Michael Barany, Clerk, presented the following letter from
the South Bend News- Times:
Mr. John K spert,
Chief of Police,
South Bend, Indiana.
Dear Chief:
Would you have any objection to the News -Times
offering a medal that carries with it a year's
subscription to the paper to the man on your
force that you selected as having done the most
outstanding piece of police work?
It is our idea to have you make this selection
each three months. The medal would designate
the man as a member of the St. Joseph Valley
Fellers Club.
Let me know if you approve and we will give it
a story or two and will ask you Mares 1 for the
first selection.

President."
After discussing the above letter with Chief of Police, John
B. Kuespert, the Board unanimously agreed to co- operate with
the News -Times and instrw ted the Clerk to inform Mr. Millis
that they are willing to co- operate with him in this matter.
Applicationsof John Swiatowy and Stanley J. Kush were
approved and ordered placed on file.

FIRE DEPARTMENT
Chief Roy A. Knoblock reported on the activities of his depart-
ment for the past week.
Applications of Theodore L. Wolter and Walter Knoblock were
approved and ordered placed on file.
ELECTRICAL DEPAR'DTENT
William F. lualls, Superintendent, presented weekly time sheets
and reported on the activities of his department for the past
week.
On recommendation of William H. Trost, Jr., the Board instruct-
ed Mr. Qualls to move the police box from the corner of
Broadway and Miami to Indiana and Miami streets.
WEIGHTS and MEASURES DEPARTUENT
Weekly report of City Sealer, Chas. J. Burns, was examined and
ordered filed.
