Meeting called to order by Mr. C. A. Budd at 9:20 A.M. All members present. Minutes of last regular meeting read and approved. Dr. E. E. Johnston, Jan. 19, 1933. POLICE DEPARTMENT Officer Peter Rudynski who was suspended from duty January, 16, 1933, appeared before the Board to answer the charged of "Neglect of Duty" preferred against him by Chief John. B. Kaespert. Mr. Budd read the following charges: "I herewith prefer the following charges against Patrolman Peter Rudynski in that the said Officer has been guilty of "Neglect of Duty". To-wit: That on January 13, 1933, Patrolman Rudynski did enter the office of the D. Lontz Coal Co., 427 E. Colfax Avenue at 1:18 A.M., and that the said officer remained there to 2:05 A.M., and he again entered at 2:32 A.M., and remained to 2:57 A.M. Again entered at 3:20 A.M., remaining to 4:15 A.M. That on January 14, 1933, the said officer entered the above mentioned place at 12 :15 A.M., and left at 1:00 A.M., and re-entered the place at 2:12 A.M.,and left at 2:50 A.M. That on January 15, 1933, the said officer entered the above mentioned place at 12: ' 30 or some time prior to that time and was found there by Captain of Police Edward Morris and Sergeant of Police William Diedrich at 12:30 A.M. That the said officer on several occasions has made his last report from Box No. 225 while his schedule calls for Box No. That-the said officer on entering the above mentioned Coal Company office was'off his assigned post. All of which is in violation of the rules of the South Bend Police Department. These charges will be substantiated by Sergeant William Diedrich and Captain Edward Morris. Respectfully submitted, JOHN B. KUESPERT Chief of Police." After hearing the charges, Officer Rudynski pleaded guilty. On reoommeddation of Mr. Budd, motion was made by Mr. Gadacz, se conded by Mr. Trost, and - unanimously car3ied that Officer Rudynski be ordered back to duty immediately and that he lose two weeks pay in lieu of a fine. I I I -M 2 1 ' January 23, 1933 contd. The Board approved Officer Jos. Gambarzewski's bond J69370 dated February 15, 1933 with the Glenn Falls Indemnity Co. Chief Kuespert reported the rules pertaining to special police officers are being made up and will be completed and submitted at the next regular meeting. The Board instructed Michael Barany', Clerk, to install a fifteen - minute parking zone on both sides of Post Office with the exception that a no parking zone be made in front of each entrance. Special police commission was granted to Floyd Talmadge who is employed at the J.M. S. Building. Applications of Jos. C. Przeradzki, Fred W. Slater, Cleo Weinberg and William Mitchell were approved and ordered filed. FIRE DEPARTMENT Chief Roy A. Knoblock reported on the activities of his department for the past week. ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT Mr. Qualls, Superintendent, reported the activities of his department and presented weekly time sheets for the past week. 1EIGHT S and MEASURES DEPARTMENT Weekly report of City Sealer, Chas. J. Burns, was presented, examined and ordered placed on file. Meeting adjourned at 11.30 A.M. Attest; Jerk.
