REGULAR MEETING
NOVEMBER 21, 1932
Regular meeting held by the Board of Public Safety Monday,
November 21, 1932.
I'Tleeting called to order at 9:10 A.M.
Those in attendance were 1 C. A. Budd, Tyr. Valentine J. Gadacz,
and IdTr. 'ffm. H. Trost, Jr.
Bills in the amount of X182.10 were approved, bearing requisi-
tion numbers as follows:

POLICE DEPARTS ENT
On motion of I.Ir. Gadacz, seconded by Mr. Trost, and unanimous-
ly carried, the Board instructed 1,lichael Barany, Clerk, to
issue order to Scherman-3chaus-Freeman Company for three (3)
Bullet-Proof Windshields at 495.00 each installed.
Chief Knespert reported that his department was successful in
rounding-up five bandits who participated in a number of
burglaries and hold-ups in this county and who were responsible
for the de s'truction of machinery and clothing in the Swanks
Laundry and Cleaning Company.
Chief Kuespert requested a few days leave of absence, which
request was granted by the Board.
`Meekly report of Policewoman, Mrs. 1 Evans, was examined
and placed on file.
FIRE DEPARTIT'"ENT
On recommendation of Fire Chief, Roy.. Knoblock, motion was
made by Irr. Gadacz, seconded by 1 Trost, and unanimously
carried, that a Cooling System be purchased from the General
Fire Truck Company,and installed'on the fire truck purchased
from their company, at a cOst'of $200.00.
At the request of Ift. !I. Trost, Jr. , the following letter
presented by Fire Chief, Roy A. Knoblock, be made a record:
"To the Honorable I.Tembers of the Board of Public
Safety:
Gentlemen:
As for your information of the test given on
Wednesday, November 9, 1932, of the Pierce-Arrow
Truck Engine No. 10 on a 9/10 of a mile riul., the
time was one minute and forty-three.seconds, and
the Pierce-Arrow Truck Engine No. 5 was one
min and forty-one seconds. On Seagrave Truck
Engine No. 1, the time was one minute and fifteen
seconds.

and placed on file.

WEIGHTS and MEASURES DEPARTMENT
Weekly report of Chas. J. Burns, City Sealer, was examined and
ordered placed on file.
ELECTRICAL DEPARTI:M17T
Mr. Wm. F. Qualls, Superintendent,. presented weekly time sheets,
also report on test made on fire alarm boxes, which were examined
and ordered placed on file.
