CoSB will also require some assistance with configuring 2-3 Cisco, 1572 access points in an AP group and setup to broadcast certain SSIDs from them. The access points are already owned, and will just need configuration. $ Requested Features City of South Bend has requested a 3850 switch with o Four IGbps SFP ports • Four lGbps long -haul optics • Forty -Eight IGbps copper ports • Redundant Power Supplies • HOW PoE+ Power IP Base Licensing 0 Proposed Solution NSI has provided a quote for a 3850 with the above features. NSI relies on Cisco's portfollio of products to deliver fast, reliable, and secure network access solutionis. A strong foundation of switching allows packets to, be reliably delivered from one end of the network to the other. Cisco's Catalyst switches are the latest in a long history of reliable network access equipment, NSI will provide the services to work with CoSB to get the Cisco1572 access points online, verify the code version is upgraded to match the controller, configure to operate in the desired AP group, and test for proper connectivity on the SSlDs. Design Specifications and Assumptions IP Base Licensing is sufficient for routing requirements Single -Mode Fiber connections will not be over 101krn (6,2 miles) It is assumed that for the wireless portions of this project, the required SSIDs and VLANs to be setup for use on the newly installed Cisco 1572 access points are already in existence in the network, and have full access to necessary resources both internal and internet related. 0 Implementation Network Solution Inc. views the successful completion of this project as a partnership between themselves and City of South Bend. The following section provides the scope of work each is responsible for throughout different phases of this project. Implementation Responsibilities: Network -Wide *NSI will conduct an Installation Review meeting and verify the Project Plan including network design, equipment delivery, installation times, and testing procedures. Switching • NSI will assemble the new equipment including installation of rackmount hardware, modules, and power supplies and install the device inthe existing equipment ra,ks, wNS11 will label any identified unique ports to preserve the network configuration from the existing equipment to the new equipment. • NSI will configure the new switche,s according to the agreed upon design and cutover from the existing equipment. The new equipment will take over handling production traffic, Wireless w NSI will verify the access points comm online properly, upgrade current Ain3Scode, move access points tothe desired APgroup (NSI will create a separate AP group if needed), and perform remote testing with CoSB onsite staff toverify proper connectivity • CoSB will install and document the location of each access point by room number, name, and AP MAC address * CoSB will provide lift access ifrequired for high APcabling orInstallation (if applicable) • NSI will configure hostmamesfor each APbased! upon their location, w CoSfwill assist and provide access to the switched infrastructure for necessary port configurations. Testing Responsibilities: Network -Wide 9 NSI and CoSB will test access to the critical services identified in the testing plan, Switching • NSI will verify proper operation of the installed equipment as identified in the testing plan. At the completion of testing all devices should be capable of passing traffic through their uplink port, being remotely managed, and have had a backup copy of their configuration taken, Wireless • NSI will perform remote testing with CoSB onsite staff to verify proper connectivity • CoSB will provide onsite personnel to test connectivity with the remote NSI engineer Tra in.ing.&. Support Responsibilities: Network -Wide NSI will provide an hour of post -cut support. An engineer will be dedicated to responding to any network issues identified by CoSB that their staff would like investigated. No training is included as part of this proposal Infrastructure Final Deliverables Following the completion of training and support, NSI and CoSB will review the work completed, As part of this review NSi will provide the following: Network -Wide • NSI will provide documentation of the testing results including identified critical services, initial testing result, any required corrective actions, and final testing results (where necessary). Switching • NSI will provide network design documentation (in; digital format) of o A copy of all final device configurations General Responsibilities NSI has provided labor estimates in conjunction with the bill of materials and this scope of work. Any modifications to either document may require a change order that includes additional cost for added product or services. Listed below is a final set of defined responsibilities that are not included as part of any particular phase of the project but stili set important expectations for the successful completion of the project. Network -Wide • Provide Existing Network Documentation — CoSB will provide NSI access to existing network configurations and documentation. Having information such as network drawings, expected failover behaviors, security policies, management addresses, passwords, licenses, running configurations, and device settings helps NSI develop a proper migration strategy for installation and configuration. • Storage and Staging Area — CoSB will designate a location for all ordered equipment to be delivered to. IRS NetworkSolutions i ff[, location, • Inter -Operability with Existing Equipment— NSI will configure new equipment as specified in the design to interoperate with existing equipment. If additional devices outside the scope of the Wtial design are required to be reconfigured, a change -order will be created for the additional labor cost. • Location Access — CoSB will ensure timely access to the equipment installation area. installation delays caused by access restrictions may be billable on a per occasion instance. Switching • Equipment Rocks — CoSB will provide network racks that offer adequate power, cooling, and physical space for the new equipment. Physical specifications for each piece of hardware are available upon request. • Airflow — CoSB will ensure space is available around newly installed devices and allows for proper ventilation. Each device is designed to move air through it in a specific pattern. Devices should be plAced in such a manner that air flows from a 'cold' aisle (intake) to a 'hot' aisle (exhaust). Airflow specifications for each piece of hardware are available upon request, • Power--CoSB will provide the proper PDUs or receptacles for powering all equipment, The equipment will be deployed with the power cables and connector types as specified in the quote. Power specifications for each piece of hardware being deployed including cable lengths and connector types are available upon request. • Transceivers —CoSB will provide any transceivers or twinax cables not specified In the quote. If the transceiver counts change following project acceptance, a change order can be submitted to create a quote for the required additions, o "All 10Gbps SIR optics must utilize OM3 or OM4 fiber for transport in-between patch panels, If OM1 fiber is still part of the infrastructure LRM optics must be specified for 10Gbps tranisport. • Patch Cables — CoSB will provide any and all patch cables, either fiber or copper, except those specified on the quote. All equipment purchased by Customer (the "Equipment") is provided FOB at the shipping location, shipment will be rnade as specified by Customer and Customer is solely responsible for all expenses in, connection with the delivery of the Equipment. The Equipment will be deemed accepted by Customer upon receipt. 2. PURCHASE PRICE AND TAXES. Customer shall pay to Network solutions, Inc. the purchase price set forth in the applicable invoice ("Purchase Price") for each item of Equipment and installation. Customer hereby grants and Network Solutions, Inc. reserves a purchase money security interest in the Equipment and the proceeds thereof as a security for its obligations hereunder until payment of the full Purchase Price to Network Solutions, Inc. Customer authorizes Network Solutions, Inc. to file financing statements to perfect its purchase money security interest. Customer acknowledges that in the event of Customer's clefaO and the exercise by Network Solutions, lnc, of its security interest in the Equipment, all of Customer's systems and activities which depend on: the Equipment will be disrupted or rendered inoperable. The Purchase Price is due and payable upon delivery of the Equipment in accordance with the terms on the face of the invoice. Customer shall pay all taxes and other governmental charges assessed in connection with the rental, use or possession of the Equipment including, without limitation, any and all sales and/or use taxes and personal property taxes. 3. PAST DOE INVOICES. Invoices are past due the day following the date payment is due. Interest chiarges shall accrue from that date. In the event of past due invoices, Customer agrees to pay to Network Solutions, Inc., as interest, an amount equal to 2% per month, or the maximum provided by law, (whichever is less) for invoice amounts that are past due. Should Network Solutions, Inc. be forced to initiate legal action to collect unpaid amounts from past due invoices, Customer agrees to pay Network Solutions, Inc.'s reasonable attorney's fees and costs of collection in addition to the interest described above, 4. TITLE. Customer shall acquire title to the Equipment upon full payment of the purchase price(s) set forth herein. Notwithstanding the foregoing, Network Solutions, Inc. and any licensor of rights to Network Solutions, Inc. shall retain title to and rights in the intellectual property (whether or not subject to patent or copyright) and content contained In the materials supplied under the terms of this Agreement. 5. RETURNS. All returns must be approved by Network Solutions, Inc. and a RMA number assigned prior to return shipment. Customary restocking fees of 15% will apply to all non -defective returns. Returns delivered to Network Solutions, Inc. without prior consent will be rejected and returned, If evaluation product is not returned at the end of the evaluation period, evaluation unit invoices are due and payable on the day following the invoice date, S. SELECTION OF EQUIPMENT; MANUFACTURER WARRANTY. Customer acknowledges that customer has selected the Equipment and disclaims any statements made by Network Solutions, Inc. Customer acknowledges and agrees that use and possession of the Equipment by Customer shall be subject to and controlled by the terms of any manufacturer's or, if appropriate, supplier's warranty, and Customer agrees to look solely to the manufacturer or, if appropriate, supplier with respect to all mechanical, service and other claims, and the right to enforce all warranties made by said manufacturer are hereby, to the extent Network Solutions, inc, has the right, assigned to Customer. The Martin Luther King Jr. Center is the pilot site for a digital access initiative. The sites will provide high-speed Internet, quality devices, and digital programming to residents in South Bend. This effort is a facet of a broader City initiative aimed towards addressing the digital divide in South Bend, working towards digital inclusion. The Office of Innovation and Technology team has reviewed the quote and gives favorable recommendation as well. The not to exceed cost of $21,022.05 is for a one-time setup, purchase of Hardware, SMARTnet needs, and installation, professional services, and configuration fee. Network Solutions does have the State QPA. Note: The funding for this quote/contract is coming out of the designated account number on the accompanied Agenda, but will be reimbursed through the Community Development Block Grant when the funds are available.
