Mr. Lambert absent. /Bids were received on Michigan Avenue Grading and paving with gra vel ,under Improvement Resolution No. 205 in the City of South Bend, Indiana., The same were opened and read and referred to the City Engineer -for tabulation to be re- ported back Tuesday July 29th.,1913 at 10:00 A.M. ✓ Bids were received for grade, curb -and walk on Harris Street fromFord Street -to North line of the Grand Trunk .Railway company's right of way. Hearing given on Improvement Resolution No. 294 for grade, curb and walk on Dale Avenue, from Dayton Street to Bowman Street. In the City of South Bend, Indiana. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find in each and every case in said improvement that the benefits to the property and to the City of South Bend are equal to the estimated cost of said improvement, and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Resolved further that advertising for bids be deferred until after January 15t h. 1,1914. Hearing given on Vacation resolution No. 21 for the purpose of vacating the'following described property to -wit:- An alley between Lots 50,51 ,52 and 53 Kauffman's Place Addition. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore sustain all former action taken and declarl the above described property in all things vacated and this resolution in all things ratified, confirmed. and ap- proved. On motion duly made and seconded, the following preamble and resolutions were unanimously adopted.:- , C WHEREAS. , This Board did on the 21st. , fay of May 1913 deem it expddient and of public utility to permanently improve Marion Street between Scott Street and Leland.Avenue by"paving the roadway of the same, and did on said date pass and adopt a resolution author- izing said permanent improvement, and, WHEREAS. The City Engineer has prepared and filed with this Board a repdVt showing the..number and location, as well as the material to be usedand the manner of laying the same, of -the service pipes, mains, conduits, laterals and conte.etions which are, or vcdll be necessary to accommodate the abutting property owners with gas, water,.. heat -steam or any other product for which any person, firm or corporation has, been -granted a franchise for supplying the citizens of the City of Sotn Bend, Indians which report is as follo*s' Report referred to showing. Bend, . by construction of pavement, .and that it is, and is hereby so declared, necessp necessary for the Northern Indiana Gas & Electric Company, which has, and operates under, a franchise from said City to supply gas to the Citizens of said .City, to provide and install mains} laterals2 service. pipes and connections for gas in said part, of said street, of the description, location and number set forth in said report of said City Engineer, which mains, service pipes and connections are hereby .declared necessary for the immediate use of said Company in supplying gas to the owners of property, abutti g upon said part of said street.
