"entlemen:-
As you are no doubt aware the changes which have been made on Vistula, Avenue,
between Sample and Ernsperger Streets, in this City, relating to the widening of the street
and the placing of the Railvray Companyts tracks in t: center of said. street, will nee--
essitate the change.of the location of the poles along the eastern and northern side of said
Avenue which poles are jointly used by you.
The poles cannot be allowed to remain in the paved portion of the street away
from the curbing and the placing of the same in the paved portion of the street next to the
gutter will create a condition so dangerous, in the judgement of this Board, that the same
should not be allowed to exist. The Board realizes that this change will necessitate con-
siderable outlay and to that end the Board hereby promises that it will bear the one-half
of the total expanse of the moving of such poles to a point just inside the . curb, provided
however, that the City shall not be liable for any amount in excess of Three Hundred (300.00)
Dollars.
We,, therefore, request you to kindly make arrangements at once to place the poles
as above suggested and upon such removal, preseent your joint, verified.,item.ized statement of
the expense, wheen this City will pay, as above stated, the once-half,but not .to exceed three
HUndreed Dollars, thereof.
