for Arthur Meyers at,. $1,000.00 filed.
Peti-,ion received far sewer on West Da"11 Avenue from South
Webster Street to South Walnut Street. Resolution ordered.
This being the date set for the receiving of bids for the
Street Lighting in this City, Thomms English representing the Indiana & Mich.
Elea. Company the only prospective bidders on the.centract to furnish street
lighting for the City of South Bend'appeared and requested furthertime to
prepare their bid. Granted extension of Sixty days for bids to be filed.
The fallowing resolution approved:
R E S 0 L U T I O N.
RESOLVED, That the City Engineer be allowed $125.00 per month
from January lst., 1924 out of the Track Separation Fund for his services in
connection with Track Separation.
Also that the City Engineer be allowed5fl0.00 out of the
Track Separation fund for his services in connection with track separation to
date. Approved Dec. 26th „ 1923 Board of Public Works -by L. B. Slaughter
President.
The following order sent to Gee. A. DAvis Buiding Commissioner,
The City has taken over all lighting in Harter Heights which
was originally installed -and part of which has been paid for by the Real estate
company until this date, and we tool that under these cieumstances the large
sign maintained by this company shoud be removed. The -real estate eapany
referred to is the Louis G. Pahmer Company. We will consider it a favor if
you will use your office to see that this sign is remove. Clerk instructed to
send notice to Building Commissioner.
Bids were received read ;ad on Pipe sewer on Swygart Avenue
from Indiana Avenue to Prairie Avenue. Submitted by S. U. Ackerman, and I. W.
Staples. ( See files for original bids. Referred to Engineer Dept. for tabulate
tabulation:
Contract with Isaac W. Staples"for pipe sewer on California
Avenue from Cleveland Avenue to 1st. alley E. of Cleveland Avenue as provided
in improvement Resolution No. 1273 adapted October 17th., 1923 signed and
construction bond in the sum of $266.00 with the Amerien Surety Company of New
York as sureties approved. Contract and bon d ordered filed.
