Board met in regular session at 7:15 P.M. All members present.
. Hearing had -on assessment rolls and final estimates for,the following
improvements
Pavement on Noire Dame Avenue from Jefferson Blvd. to Vorth City
Limits,.under Improvement Resolution No.
4 Yn-the above w&tter as remonstrators appeared but no written remon-
strance was filed. The Board therefore find that the property assessed in said
roll filed November 1923 is benefited in the smotintrs as shown on said roll,
and'the Board further find that the assessment roll filed November 1923 and
the final estimate allowed November 1923 should be and the same are hereby in all
things ratified confirmed and approved.
Engineer filed assessment rolls and final estimates for the follow-
ing improvement: -
Grade, curb and ve k on Altgeldt Avenue from Miami Street to ClyAe
Street.
Pipe sewer on Vassar Avenue from Desmond Avenue to 114 feet west of
Cleveland Avenue.
Grade, curb and walk on Ewing`Avenue from Miamli Street to East line
of Miami Heights.
TTrunk sewer on Calvert Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 1070
Assessment roll adopted and final estimate allowed. Notice of
adoption o-f the assessment rolls, and of hearings upon the same on the 3rd. day
of January 1924 at.7:15 P.M. ordered published as provided by law.
City Clerk filed copies of Ordinances authorizing the Board of Pub&
Public Works to condemn certain real estate. Same lost by a tie vote in the Couni
Council Monday Dee, 10th., 1923 in regard to City Market.
Ordinance appropriating the sum of $25,431.00 from the General Fund
of the City to the Miscellaneous Fund of the Board of Works in payment of Contra&
of the Hay -Weaver Company for Fire and Police Alarm Station passed on Dee. 10th,
1923 ordered placed on file.
Ordinance No. 2378 appropriating sums to the various Dept. of .the
Board approved and placed on file.
Deferred hearing had on Condemnation Resolution No, 80 for the
condemning of lots 19920,21,22,23,24925 and 26 in South Bend City Addition fora
public market. no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances were filed
The resolution is hereby rescinded.
The following nitice ordered sent to the Board of Public Safety.
On account of the marry complaints made to the Board of Publs
Works relative to obstructions of traffic on the Colfax Avenue Bridge by the
public market, we would appreciate your action if you could see your way clear
to have same removed.
