Barnss for grads, ourb and walk on Fellows St. from Ewing Avenue to Altgddt Street, as provided in improventant Resiution No. 1256 adopted August 29th:, 1923 signed and construction bold attached thereto in the sum of $204.00:with United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company as sureties, approved. Contract and 'bond ordered filed. Wednesday Sept. 26th.9 1923, Board met in regular session at 7:15 P.M. All members present. Hearing had on assessment rolls and final estimates is follows: - pavement on Main Street from Washington Avenue to Jefferson F, Street under Improvement Resolution No, 1131 Filed September 5th., 1923. Pavement on Poland Street from Webster Street to Walnut St. under Improvement Resolution No. 1030 Filed Sept. 4th.; 1923. Asphaltic concrete pavement on Eckman Street from Michigan St. to Fellows Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 113.3 Filed Sept. 18th., 1923. Asphaltic concrete pavement on Fassnacht Avenue frm Walnut St. to Johnson Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 1032. Filed Sept. 12th.91923. Resurfacing with sheet asphalt pavement on Colfax Avenue from Michigan Street to Lafayette Blvd. under Improvement Resolution No. 1132 Filed -Sept. 12,1923. Continued. In the above matter no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrances were filed. The Board therefore find that, the property assessed in .said rollafled on Sept. 4Lh.9 5th. 12th. and 18th., 1923 dre benefited in the amounts as shown on said roils, and the Bard further find, that the assessments rolls filed Sept. 4 th., 5th.9 12th. and 18th., 1923 and the final V" estimates allowed Sept. 4,5th.12th.9 and 18th., 1923 should be and the same are hereby in all things ratified, confirmed and approved. Deferred hearing had on Improvement Revolution No. V249 for grade, curb and mlk on Esther Str#&t from Jefferson Blvd. to 1(aKinley Avenue, Proporty owners appeared by representatives abd remonstrated but no further written remonstrance was filed. Adter hearing, the Board decided that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement, are equal to the a timeted cost of the: same, and the Board therefore now confirms the said resolution. Date for receiving, opening and considering sealed proposab fori the construction of said SuMmx ,grade, curb and walk is fixed as the 23rd. date of October 1923 at 10:00 A.M. and notice.thereof ordered published as provid provided by law. Deferred hearing hadon Improvement Resoluton No. 1250 for the grade, curb and walk on Washington Avenue from the east line of Sunnyside Manor to Esther Street, No remonstrators 'appeared and no further written remonstrance was filed. le Board 9hherefore _finds that the benefits to property liabel to be assessed for said improvement .are equal to the estimated cost of the same, and said resolution, is now confirmed. Date for receiving, opening and considering sealed proposals fined as October 23rd.9 1923. at 10:00 A.I. Notice thereof ordered published as required by law. Hearing had on improvement Resolution No. 1258 for the grade curb and walk on 12th. Street from Pleasant Street to North Side Blvd. No remonstrators appeared and nowritten remonstrance was filed. The Board thereofe finds that the benefits to property iiabel to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of the same, and said resolution is now confirmed. Date for receving, opening and considering sealed proposals fixed as October 23rd., 1923 at 10:00 A.M. Notice thereof ordered published as required by law. Att Geo. Sands appeared before the Board and requested permission to � build a two (21foot, sidewalk along side of his property on Hibberd Court, Permission granted to Atty. Sandsito construct sidewalk on north side of Hibberd Court from Main Street to end of his property on Hibberd Court and to join up brick pavement at same level of alley pavement. Contracts were awarded as follows: - Grade 9 curb and malk on Eldora Ct. from L. W. F, to Suth end of Ct. to J. A. BAnres at ....$700.00 Grade, curb and walk on Roberts Street from Mishawaka Avenue to.Ruskin- St reel to Highways Material Co. at....,.._1,973.20 Grade, curb and walk on Dayton Street from alley west of Kline St. from West line of Robertson's Add. to J. A. Barnes t....12.450.00 Grade, curb and walk on Dubail Avenue from Webster Street to Walnut Street to Highways Material Co. at.....,..$2,064.90 Grade, curb and m lk on Clyde Street from Indiana Avenue to Ewing Ave. to J. A. Barnes at. ...estimate $39670.00 Bids rejected above.estimate on High Street from Bowman Street to Calvert Street and Clerk instructed to'send they thirty nays notices to construct sidewalk or same will be constructed under Various Streets contract. City Attorney requested to consider an amendment to Building Code, Section which gives property owners the apparent right to build eight (8") inches outside of the property line into the City property or street, and recommending that the survey for a building to be erected in the business district be referred to the City Engineer, and receive is approval before construction is commenced in order ;that the City's rights my be preserved. Copy of this,request, ordered sent to City Attorney. Engineer signed the following assessment rolls and final estimates. Bipe sewer on Seeberger Srive ( now Alt#ket Avenue from Michigan Street to Fellows Street. Pipe sewer on Burns Street from South Bend Avenue to north end of Burns Street. Grade curb and walk on Sixteenth Street from Mishawaka Avenue to G. T. W . Ry. Co. Pipe sewer on Campaut Street from alley east of Walsh Street, to East end of Campau Street. -Assessment, roils adopted and final estimates allowed.
