Board met in regular session at 7:15 P.M..All members present. Hearing bAd an Resolution for pavement on Sunnyside Avenue from Washington Avenue to Lai Salle Avenue, under Improvement. Resolution No. 1228 In the City of South Bend, Indiana. Upon said hearing no remonstrators appeared and no written remonstrance was filed. The Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the estimated cost of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes final action on said resolution -as originally adopted, and the same is hereby in all things, ratified, cnfirmed and approved. Resolved further, that notices be published on- the 21st. day of July 1923 and on the 28th.. day of July 1923 in the South Bend News Times and Tribune In said City stating 'that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. Tuesday August 7th.9 1923. The Board res rues the right to reject any and all bids, Property owners residing an Randolph Street appeared before the Board and requested that petition for improvements on said street be.rejetted. Cancer ning the improvement of the roadway of Brookfield Street from Lincoln Way Wert to Vassar Avenue with asphalt, asphaltic concrete, bitulithie concrete or brick, in.,pursuance to Resolution No, this baiag Board bbing fully finds that no petition has been filed with said.Board by a majortty in number of the freeholders residing on said street to be improved, requesting that it be Improved with a different kind of pavement than the kind heretofore adopted by the Beard in its preliminary order; and the City Engineer reports that the Williston Construction, Co. is the lowest and best bidder for the kind 6 pavement heretofore adopted.by the Board, and the Board so finds that the Williston Construction Co. is the lowest add best bidder and hereby lets the c©nstract for said,improvement to them and orders that said improvement be made with sheet asphalt using Mexican asphalt and all proceed- ings heretofore had in this matter are hereby in all thinga ratified, confirmed and approved. - Concerning the improvement of the roadway of Marietta Street from Broadway to Indiana Ave. with asphalt, asphaltic concrete, bitulithie, concrete or brick, in pursuance to;Resolution No., This board finds that no petition has been filed frith sai Board by a majority in number of the freeholders residing on said street to be improved, requesting that it be improved with a different kind of pavement than thi kind heretofore adopted by the Board in its preliminary order; and the City Engi.3.neer reports that, the Williston Construction Company is the lowest and best bidder for the kind of pavement heretofore adapted by the Board, and the Board find that the Williston Construction Co. is the lowest and best bidder and hereby lets the contract for said improvement to them and orders that said improvement be made with Veedersburg Brick with bituminous Filler and concrete base and all proceedings heretofore had in this Witter are hereby confirmed and ratified.
