FIRE DEPT; Bills to were approved and ordered paid. ELECTRICAL DEPT. Motion prevailed to acoept and order placed on file the weekly report of Supt' Quayle for the week ending June 25th. 1927.- DEPT OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES Motion prevailed that the weekly report of City Sealer Burns ior the week ending June 25th., 1927 be ac epted and ordered placed on file. POLICE DEPT. Bills to were approved and ordered paid. Motion prevailed that the applications of Geo. W. Satyr -Delbert L. Garri . son; and Michael Greszazk be-accepted and -ordered placed on file. Motion prevailed that the bids for coal that were advertie.d for ;in the News Papers 'On June 218t., _and Uth. be opened and tabulated at the next regta.lar meeting of July 5th, 1927 Chief Hatt reported that Officer Chester Wielop(.)lski has been suspended since June 22nd.,y1927; and that charges of Direct disobedienc-e of orders, Insubordination,, conduct unbecoming an Officer, and failure -to report at roll ball have been prefered against Officer Weilopolski by Sergt, Peter Rudynski, and Copt Wm. McMahon, and that Officer Wielopolski was ready for trial Motion prevailed that Officer Wielopo'lski be called ,awn before the Board to'stand trial on,these charges, and that the Boarq'go into session as a Trial Body. Officer Wieloplolski appeared before the Board, and was represented by Attorney Geo. Schock as his council. Attorney Paul ".Jackson represented the the City.in the absense of City Attorney Romig. k; Officer Wielopolski pleaded "NotGuilty" to both charges No. 1 and No. 2 The trial proceeded and the following witnesses were examined- Cap 's. McMahon, Capt. Lane, Sergt. Jennings, Sergt Rudynski., 'Capt.) Bunker Alarm - Station Hyatt, and.Officer Wielopolski. Officer Wielopolski thru his Attd,�ey Geo. Schock asked that -he be given time to have some of his witnesses/ testify, and the trial be prosponedv or ._ continued until some time later-in the week. This request was granted by the Board and Thursday June 30th. was set as the date that the trial would be resumed. The.Spedial Meeting of Thursday June 30th. was y prosponed or cancelled due "to the inability of one of the Board Members to be present, and the resumption of the trial was automaticaly held over until the next regular fleeting of Tuesday July 5th., 1927. .. The regular< meeting of the Board of Public Safety was held in the Boards Officeuesday July 5th 1927. f `Monday July 4th. being Independence Day a' Regal Holiday. Y Mr.._.Nicely was not present. Meeting was culled to order at 4:15 P.�vj. Minotes of the last regular meeting were read and approved.. A communication was received from A�torney Geo. Schock asking that the resumtio.n of the Trial of Officer Wielopolss i be prosponed until some future da.tebecause of the illness of Attorney Schock. Motion "prevailed that the resumption of the trial be prosponed until the next regular meeting of of July llth: , 1927. FIRE EEPT. - Bills, to# were approved and ordered paid. Motion prevailed that the applications of Frank Remmler, and Gordon.L. Milton be accepted and ordered palced on file. Mr. Reeder was not present Officer ffieloplolski and his Attorney Geo. Schock were present.. Attorney Schock anounced that the defense would rest, and would not insist-that the defense witnesses be heard, as.it would be a hard matter and mean further delay to get them in to testify. The Board retired to an adjoining room prepair their verdict. The Board Poubd Officer Wielopolski GUILTY as charged, and sentanced him to rema.in''susperiaed wmthibut pay until July 16th. 1927; also that Officer Wielopolski forfeit his vacation for the year 1927.Officer Wielopolski was also reprimanded, and warned not to have any further dif iculties with his superior officers. FIRE DEPT. Bills # to`# were approved and ordered paid Motion prevailed that the application of Emil DeRose be accepted. and ordered placed on file. ELECTRICAL DEPT. Motion prevailed that the weekly report of Shpt . Qualls for the week ending July 9th. be accepted and ordered placed, on file. DEPT OF WEIGHTS & IZASURES Motion ;prevailed that the weekly report of City Sealer Burns for the week ending July 9th. also monthly report for the Month of June be - accept ed and ordered placed on file. Lotion prevailed that an ordered be issued,by Chief to all drivers of Police Cars, th the efldct that motors be shut off at alltiffies when cars are stopped l. Lotion prevaied that.a letter be sent to Officer Justus Bloom commend in g him for his courage and quick thinking at Playland Park on the Afternoon of July 4th. when his,'coura,ge, and quick thinking saved the life of a sma,:l'boy who had wandered out on the race track during the Automobile races. Motion prevailed that Officer Bloom be granted $10.00 per month extra pay for a period of 5 months beginning July loth., 1927 under provisions of Ordinance # 2629. Motion prevailed that the bid of the Dan R. Lontz Coal Co. of $4.70 per ton for # 9 vein Western Kentucky bitiminus coal be accepted and that the Dan R.
