A. Special. Meeting of the ,Boa' of �ubl. c ,safety was called by Preside
Engeldrum on Monday May 16th., 1927

;vas.. called to. order by Tres. Engeldrum at 5;21 P.M.
All members,were present.
Chief Hatt reported that the ''olice Dept. was handicaped by a shortage ,
of Police officers at presently reason of the resigination of Lucius f I
Lagortune on April 19th, and-tthe vacency on the Dept. be filled. Chief
Hatt further recommended that the vacency be filled with an applicant
with police experience. Reeder former Officer
On a motion by Mr. Nicely and a second by Mr.
f Frank Wendowski was reinstated on the Police Dept. to begin duty May 18th.
1927 at the rate of $144.00 per month for the first 6 months, and the
I regular salary of $160.00 per month titer the first 6 months of service.

Motion prevailed. that -the application of Clarence William Sea r less be -
aecepte.d'and ordered. placed on file.
I Chief Knoblock. reported that the_work for Fire Prevention weekegining
f May 23rd. is being earried on with great.sueeess.
ELECTRICAL DEPT.
Motion prevailed that the weekly report'of Supt. Qualls 'for the week
ending Maylst, be accepted and ordered placed on file.
DEPT OF WEIGHTS & MEASURES
Motion prevailed.that'the weekly report of City Sealer Burns for the
week ending May 21st. be accepted and ordered placed on file.
POLICE D$PT. -
i. - -- Bille 1,37 2 to# /Iia0 were approved and. ordered
Motion prevailed that the ##J## necessary repairs on the Police Motor
Boat tracks be made at once.
Motion prevailed that the offer made by the Colts Fire Arms Co, to allow.
$6,00 on old revolvers traded in on new revolvers be accepted and that
tTe` 6 old revolvers now out, of service on account .of needed , repairs be
traded tocon this basis, and that '4 new 38 caliber Speci &j Police Positive
revolvers also be purchased.
Motion- prevailed that Chief Ha tt be allowed to attend the Annual Conven-
tion of the International Chief's of Police at Windsor Canada, beginning
June 4th., 1.927; also that the Chief be allowed a few days offer the
convention to visit relatived in that vi.cinit�r
Motion prevailed that the official bond of Officer Frank Wendowski acme-
Frank Wendowski, Marion wesolowski & Clarence Segdwick as surety be accepted
