Mr. Totter property owner on Georigiana Avenue and filed complaint for said property

artman's Additiox to said City on west side .of Georigiane Avenue near end of ptb*ot,
and that no protection was put up to public at this alley on account of excavating
.out in alley, Thi alley is north of above lots and.an alley west of these lets. This
ratter referred to tke Street Commissioner to investigate.
The following resolutions were adopted by the Board.
SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 1221
Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bead,
St. Joseph Couxty, State of Indians, That it is deemed_ necessary to improve Colfax Avenue
from the east line of Sunnyside Avenue to the west line of Suxhyside Manor as follows,
to -wit:-
Said street shall be graded. frOm property line to. property line
to the esta, lished grade, and cement sidewalk and ceaenteurb shall be constructed along
both sides of.said Colfax Avenue. All as is sore particularly shown aid all in accordance
with the plans, profiles, detail drawings and specifications ors file in the Office of the

That the following described Main Sewer, which from its
sine and character, is not only intended and adapted far use by property owners
whose property abuts along the line of said sewer, but is also intended and

y STREET OR ALLEY IMPROVEMENT RESOLUTION NO. 1224
Be it Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of Soli k.
Bend, St. Joseph!County, State of Indians, that it is desired and deemed
necessary to improve Alley south of Thomas Street from Chapin Street to Leruel
Street as follows, to -wit: -
Said alley shall be graded and the roadway theregf
shall be paved; also the roadway of certain portiwns-of the streets and alleys
-which outer or intersect said alley shall bo graded and paved. The -paving
material to be eased in making said improvement shall be Sheet asphalt, bitulith
asphaltic concrete, brisk or portland cement concrete seven (7) inches thick
and the foundations shall be portland cement concrete six (6) inches thick for
the'sheet asphalt, bitulithies asphaltic concrete and brick, or rolled grave
six (6) inches thick for the brick, storm water inlets and oondutis shall be
constructed where necessaatyy;-all storm water inits and manhole tops shall be
set to the proper grade; cement marginal eurh shall be constructed at all stret
and alley intersections where necessary, all as is more particularly shown and
all in accordance with the plans, profiles, detail drawings and -specifications
on file in the Office of the Department of Public Works of the City.of South

Mr. C. Talylor appeared before the Board abd presented Plat of
Jefferson estate Addition. Same to be approved when name is changed and dedication
presented.
Hearing had'- on the construction of A Sub -Trunk sewer on Chalfant
Street from Eeddy Street to Walsh Street,, Under Improvement- Resolution.Noi 1205 and having
iven notiee,of the adoption of said resolution , met pursuance to said notice and at the
time and.plaes fixed therein, and no remonstrators appeared or evidence being presented
by any persns interested in said proposed improvement.,
The Board now finds that the area or distict to be drained is propertly
bounded as described, ill `said preliminary resolution, and furthr finds that the special
benefits to bhe property within such district or area and the benefits to the City will b
be equal to or ex`oeed the estimated cast of said P:eaposed improvement as:shown by the
es_timte of the City Engineer, heretofore filed, and the said resolution is now
finds that the district to .be bbaefitted by said improvement should be boundred as
follows, viz:
Boginnin , at the int,ersectian of the center line of Eddy Street and north
line of Chalfant Street; thence north along the east line of Eddy Street t the first
alley north of Chalfant Street; thence east along the first alley north. of Chalfant

stating that this Board.will receive bids for the construction of said improvement up to
10:00 A.M. Tuesday JulY,1711., 1923.at.10:00 A.M. The Board reserves the right to
reject any and all bids.
Hearing had on improvement resolution no. 1201 for the sidewalk and
curb on Ewing. Avenue from Miami Street to East .line of Miami Heights Addition., in the
City of South Bend, Indiana . s
Npon said -hearing no remonstrators appeabed and no written remonstrance
was filed. The ;Board being fully advised in the premises, decides that the *benefits
to property fable to be assessed for said lsprpwment are equal to the estimated cost
of the same, as reported by the City Civil Engneer and thereupontakes final actia
