before the Board and rwquested that this hearing be continued, and the Board continued
said hearing until May 9th. , 1923 Lei, 7:15 P.M.
Hearing had on Resolution No. 1139 for the Resurfaoing of
and pavement, on No-t,re Dame Avenue from Jefferson Boulevard to the South Line or Soria
Street and Soria. Street from the west line of -Notre Dame Avenue ,south of Sorin, Street
to the east line of Notre Dame Avenue, north of Soria Street -and Notre Dame Avenue from
Sorin Street'to the North City Limints, is the City of South Bend, Indiana.

In the above matter a number of resident property owners appeared
but no written remonstrance , was fibled. The Board ebeing fully advised iii the premises,
decides that the benefits to Oroperty suable to be assessed for said improvement are equal
to .the estimated cost of the same:, as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon
takes final action on said resolution as originally adopted and the same is hereby in, all
things ratiied, confirmed and approved.
Resolved further, that notices be published on the 27th. day of
April i923 and x the 4th, dayf May 1923 in the South Bend Tribune and News Times,

Hearing had on Resolution No. 1136 for pavemaent on Soria Street
from St. Loufs Blvd: to Notre Dame Avenue, in the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter no remonstrators appeared rand` no written
remonstrance was filed, The Board therefore being fully advised in the premises decides
that that benefits to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to
the estimated cost of the same,' as reported by the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon
ekes final action on said resolution as originally adopted, and the same is hereby &x
all things, ratified, confirmed and approved.
Resolved further , that notices be published on the 27th. day of
.April 1923 and on the 4th. day of May 1923. In the South Bend News Times and Tribune
in said City and once in the Indianapolis Sta r, stating that this Board will receive
bids for the construction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. Tuesday May 15th., 1923•
The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Hearing had on Improvement Resolution No. 1134 for the pavement
on St. Peter Street from Sorin Street to Wayne Street, in the City of South Bend, Indiana.
Upon said hearing property owners appeared in favor of the pavement,
and no written remonstrance was filed. One property owner present Hugh P. Tahsey was
in favor of narrowing the roadway, The Board being fully advised in the premises, decides
Lhat the benefits .to property liable to be assessed for said improvement are equal to the
estimated cost of the same, as reported by -the City Civil Engineer, and thereupon takes
final e t ion on said resolution , by modifying said resolution to have a thirty six (36 )
foot4 dway from Wayne Street to Cedar Street and as modified the same is hereby in all
things, ratified, confirmed and approved.
Resolved further, that notices be published on the 27th. day of
April 1923 and on the 4th. day of May 1923 in the South Bend News Times and Tribune end
May 7th., 1923 in the Indianapolis Star, Indianapolis, Indima, stating that this Board
will receive bids for the ,construction of said improvement up to 10:00 A.M. on the 15th.
day of May 1923. The Board reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
Board instructed Clerk to notify the Northern Indiana Gas &
Electric Company to put gas mains on St, Peter street in good condition before pavement is
laid.

Avenue sewer and Lafayette Boulevard; thence south along Lafayette Street to the
center of Jefferson Boulevard with a 42 inch circular sewer; thence still south
along Lafayette Boulevard with a 42 inch circular sewer; thence still south
along Lafayette Boulevard to the center of Wayne -Street with a 36 inch circular
sewer; thence still south�aloag Lafayette Boulevard to a point. 25 feet north of .
the south line of Division Street with a 27 inch circular sewer. Also: Beginning

And having given notice -of the adoption of said resolutions met. purasuaat to
said notice and at the time and place ,fixed therein, and aaa number of property owners
appeared and remonstrated but no written remonstrance was filed. The Board afterheaaarixg
all interested parties present, now finds that the district to be: benefitted by said
improvement should be bounden as follows:
.Beginning at the intersection of the south lime
of La Salle Avenue and the alley east of Lafayette Boulevard; thence south along the
alley east of Lafayette Boulataard and said alley extended south to a point 146 feat north of
the north line of Tutt Street; thexee west -to ,a •point •172 -feet, west of the west line of
Lafayette Boulevard;-6henee north parallel with and 172 feet west of 'the west line of
Lafayette Boulevard to as point 49� feet south of the south line of Wayne Street; thence
west tothe seater line of Franklin Street,; thence north along the canter line of Franklin
Street and said center line to the alley north of Wayne Street; thence nest along said
alley to the alley east of William Street; thence south along the the alley east of
Williax Street to a point 4sli feet north of the north line of Wayne Street•, thence west
to a point 49� feet :north of the north line of Wayne Street; thence west parallel with
and 49-a feet north of the north line of Wayne Street to the west line of the alley west
of William Street; thence north along the west line of said alley and said west line extendea
north to the alley south of 1A Salle ; thence east along said alley south. of La Salle

of Lai Salle. -Avenue to -the place of beginning, and finds that the area or district to---
bedraineddraained is properly bounded as described in said preliminary resolution, and further
finds that the special benefits to the property within such district or area and the bene-
fits to the City (if any) will be equal to th or exceed the estimated cost of said
proposed improvement as shown by the estimated cost of the City Engineer, heretofore filed,
and the said resolution is now in all things confirmed.
Resotvdd further, that notices be published on the 27th. day of
April 1923 and on the 4th. day of May 1923 in the South Bend Daily Tribune and News Times,
in. said City and in. the Indianapolis Star, Indiasna►polis, Indiana May 7th., 19239 stating
that this Board will receive bids for the construction of said improvement up to 10:00
A.M. Tuesday May 15th., 1923 in their office in. the City Hall. The Board reserves the
right to reject any and all bids.
Hearing had on Condemnation Resolution, No. 72 for the opening of all
alley in Frantz Addition, in.the City of South Bend, Indiana.
In the above matter Attorney Elmer Peak appeared representing
the remoastrators and Attynar Dorgan and Obeneh'ain appeared representing the petitioners.
Remonstrators and pe titioners appeared, written remonstrance filed. The Board after
hearing all interested parties present deferred action on said resolution until
Wednesday May 2ad.9 1923 at 7:15 P.M.
The following request was received read and approved by the Board.

Property owners residing on Johnson Street appeared before the Board
in regard to petitiow filed March 21st., 1923 for grade, curb and walk on said
street. Property owners advised that resolution had been ordered.
