No. 1551 adopted,July 28th., 1925 signed and construction bond attached thereto
in the sum of $19169.00 with United States Fidelity & Guarantee Company of
Baltimore, Md# as sureties approved. Contract and bond ordered filed.
Contract with H. V. Arnberg for Trunk sewer known as the Fairview
amd Main Street as provided in improvement Resolution No. 1544 adopted July 22nd.
1925 signed and construction bond attached thereto in the sum of $15.646.00 -
with Standard Accident Insurance Co by John H. Loyd Attorney in fact as sureties

WHEREAS: The City of.South.Bebdm by and through its Board of Public Works
proposes to receive bids for lighting streets, allays and ubiie plakeas in the city of
south bend with electricity and to enter into a contract therefor, providing a
satisfactory bid is received, Now therefor, be it
RESOLVED:
1. That the following and attached instructions to bidders, form of
proposal, bidder's non -collusion Affidsvit ¢nd form of contract including plans,
PAnd specifications dor said lighting and form of ordinance.approving such contract

and the necessary maintenance of the same for the lighting of streets, alleys,
and public places in the City of South Bend, Ino ana, all in accordance with plabq
and specifications therefor, endorsedt " Proposals for electric Service," with the.
name of the person or corporation making the bid will be received by the Board of
Public Works of the City of South Band, , when called for during the meeting of sad
said Board of Public Works, to be.� held at, its meeting-place;in the City
Building in the City of South Bengt at the hour of 10 o'clock A.M. on the 9th.,stay
of October 19251, and immediately thereafter at said time and place during said
session of said Board 6f Public Works, bids will- be publicly opened and read and.
the award of the contract, if awarded, will be made by resolution of the Board
of Public Yorks ,as , soon: thereafter as practicable.
Each bidder shall fide With the Board of Public Works of said City

The Board has ordered that notices of such awards of damages and assessment
of benefits be served. according to law, and that a; hearing will be had ob said
on Wednesday Oa:tober 1925 at 7:15 P.M. at, the office of the Board in the City Hall
for the purpose of hearing and- reoeiving.,ob jections of any person or persons interested
in said matter.
The City Engineer submitted the list, of property owners in the matter
of theappropriation of certain property'under Condemnation Resolution No. 86 for the
Opening of College Street, from Hamilton Avenue to Bern Street; Brookfield Street from
Hamilton Avenue to S. dine of Bergin .Si,raet; Brookfield Sure t from N. line V Bergan
Street to S, line of Wilson Avenue, Johnson Street from Hamilton Avenue to Wilson Avenue
under Condamanat,ion Resolution No. 86.Whioh:-list includes" the names of the owners and
holders of property and of its interests therein sought to be taken or beneficially or
injuriously affected, and the description ofthe several pieces, of property which is
affected by the said appropriation prose t4ings.
Thereupon the Board prodet*ded. to award the damages sustained and to
assess the benefits accruing to each piece of property upon said lit.
It, was thereupon, upon motion duly made and seconded and unanimously
adopted, resolved that said list, together with the amounts of benefits and damages and
net benefits and net damages therein set forth as to the several parcels of land be
adopted and that the respective amount of benefits contained in said list be and are
hereby assessed against the several tracts of land as specifically set forth in said list,
and that, the respective, amounts of damages contftined in the said list, be and are hereby
awarded to the several tracts of land as specifically set forth in said list, and that
net benefits or net damages, as the case may begs to the respective tracts of Zane,
contained in said list are hereby awarded or assessed, as the case may be as to 'the said
several tracts of landi.
The Board hereby further sets off the benefits and damages each against
the other where both benefits and damages are assessed, against the same pxtza piece
of property, tract of lind or interests, ind hereby fixes the said respective net
benefits as the amount that shall bei paid by the respective owners as benefits, and
further hereby fixes the rezove ive IIwt damages.as to the several tracts as the amount
that shall be - paid to the owners of the despective tracts as damages. -
Thereupon, upon kotion duly made and seconded aEnd unanimously adopted_
the day of October 1925 at 7:15 P.M. -was fixed as the day on which this Board will.
receive or hear remonstrances from persons with regard to the amount of their respective
awards or assessments, and the Clerk of -this Bard -was -instructed to prepare and cause
to be duly and legally -given, notices to the owners of each parcel o_� property, showing
the amount of the assessments or awards, with s description of the property affected,
and the date of saki hearing.
