The P4ayor outlined his stand for strict law enforcement.-

TAONDW JAN.11 - Regular meeting held in the Board of 'Safety
Office at 4 p.m. All members present.
Requisitions presented by Fire Chief Knoblock «►ere approved.
Motion preval &d to appoint Irvin W. Sibrel a Captain of the
fire department and to draw a Captains pay from noon Jan.4. His leave
of absence was also extended until Monday at his own request.
Reports of the Electric Dept. and 'le.ight's and Measures
Dept. were ordered placed on file.
Motion prevaled to promote T,awrence J. T,ane to the rank of
. , Captain - and to draw the pay of this rank from tJan.4th. noon. Captain
Dane to be assigned to the day shift in the Capatins office and
Captain Cordier to assume the evening shift. Captain Chththh Bunker
assigned to the Detective department and his hours to be from 8 a.m.
to 4 p.m*
Motion prevailed for the issuance of special badges to
O.D.Yise,dity sexton,!Y.S.O1er,�V.O. and Ed.Rassler, food inspector.
On motion of Mr. Reeder the Clerk was instructed to communicate
with the City Atty. and report on the present Fire Corks ordinance at
the next meeting.
Motion prevailed to defer the purchase of an air compressor
for the Police Deft. until a later date.
Motion prevailed to secure data and make a report 'at a future
meeting regarding the; standardization of traffic signal usage.
Mot on preva.lied to provide six suits of union alls for
motorcycle police who repair their own machines.
Motion prevailed instructing Chief of Police Hatt to secure
data on Tribune Broadcasting station.
Motion prevailed to table.a mommunication asking that
Insurance adjustors be provided with special badges .
Motion prevailed ordering a slow sign erected -at LaPorte Ave
:end T ine.o0lnway.
Applications of, the following men for the Police Dept. were
ordered placed on file.-- Mickey Donahue,Steve Nemeth,Clarence Dunbar,
Michael Nugent,�.O.Hohnson,Josevh Zigler, and Elmer Reynolds.
Application of J.J. Haut was approved for the Police Dept.
Applications of the following men were approved for the
Fire'Dept. and ordered placed on file:George Erommoder,Joseph O'Connor,
Clarenc A.- Wills,Oliver Hensel,John Frosna,i'aul,Helmick,Curtis Turnock,
Sylvester Fubiak,Edmund Szloweski,Paul Ylowether, Jerome Yostic,ley,
Frank 12. Segety,M.B. Valinski .
Requisitions presented and approved: From Nos.2444 to No .2468.
