All.memebrs being minutes of previous meeting were read and approved. Public Safety, present. FIRE DEPAFTA;TENT :- Chief Sibrel made a verbal report of his department. Motion prevailed that a new Studebaker car be order for the Fire Chief delivery to be made as soon as possible. ELELCTRICAL DEPARTMENT: - Supt. Qualls, made a verbal report having just returned from the Municipal League Convention held at Gary, Ind. at whimh meeting he read a paper on this city's new Police & Fire Alarm Station. WEIGHTS & 14EASURE DEPARTMENT : - Reed I. Hawthorne presented weekly report for the ,week ending August 28th. 1926 POLICE DEPARTIENT:- An itemized statemant was received from the Indiana & Michigan Electric Co., addressed to '14ayor Seebitt, of the account of the Board of Public Safety, (Fire Department) showing amounts they claim unpaid. President Davies agreed to take this matter up with the,Electric Co., with a view to answer same. The following men appeared before the board and were questioned regarding theier applications Bor positions in the police depprtment, Donald TvTorse, James L. ,r.7c Weeney, Wo- Shelton Yeefer, Chas. Austin, and Harrys S. Ambs, appliction for reinstatement. and motion prevailed that the followin# men were appointed and requested to take the physical examination and. all that pass the examination will be placed on the awaiting -list. All members being present, minutes of previous meeting were read and approved, FIRE DEPARTMENT:- REQUISITIONS PRESENTED AND APPROVED. Numbers 1129 to 1144 inclusive were approved. ELELCTRIHAL DEPARTMENT: - REQUISITIONS PRESENTED & APPROVED. Numbers 601 to 612 inclusive were approved. Supt. Qualls, presented a writen report on the new oVerhaad type signals and suggested. that an order be placed for twenty (2)) signals of this type and that same could be installed and operated by a master control the estimate cost of this complete installation of this overhead system installed. would. be about Three Thoasand Dollars (3,000.0) and motion prevailed that same is to be installed as soon as possible. WEIGHTS & tlEASURE DEPARTMENT:- Reed I. Hawthorne presented Sept. 4th. 1925. ?'OLICE DEPARTMENT : - weekly report for the week endin# REQUI`SITIOITS PRESIEYTEM & APPROVED. Numbers 2248 to 2256 inclusive were approved. Ilotion prevailed that the Bonad of offfieerThomas Nowak for One thousand (1,000.?) and the National Surety co as Surety was approved and order placed on file. Mr. Taylor Sec'y. of the South Bend Motor Club appeared before the baard and was granted permission to remakk the Lincl6n Highway through the city with new signs. Mr. I.
